Almost half of the DVDs were unable to be written to. I was very disappointed with this product regardless of the price.

Verbatim was a company whose name I (at least somewhat) trusted. I didn't think twice about ordering a spindle of 50 of their DVD-R.

I like to keep DVD on hand because I often find that I have none left at inopportune times, so I ordered these before my other DVD had run out. I finally had a chance to use these about a week ago.

I was disappointed to find that these discs did not work properly. Out of five discs, all of them had skipping problems. Certain parts of the DVD were completely unwatchable and my DVD player would simply lock up when I tried to rewind to the part it had skipped.

I am not a newbie to burning DVD. I had been using Memorex DVD-R and, out of 50 discs, not a single one had a catastrophic failure. They all did what was expected on both data and video discs.

I cannot give this product more than one star because I find myself asking "Would I give a friend, family member, or client a video burned on a Verbatim DVD-R?", and I realize that I would rather go to the store and buy a spindle of horribly overpriced DVD-R than give them one that will consistently fail to play.

As another reviewer noted, I find myself stuck with a pile of glorified coasters which are outside of their return period because these obviously were never meant to be used for playing videos or storing files.

Update March 26, 2014: Amazon was kind enough to give me a full refund. They even told me to keep the item. That's fine with me. It means that I really can use them as coasters.

They work great, I don't have anything bad to say about the product. I would definitely recommend it. It's inexpensive and works good.

Blank DVDs. Non-rewriteable. I'd say about 10% (5 or so) DVDs in this pack were just downright bad--they couldn't store information for one reason or other. That's a pretty high failure rate. I was burning DVDs of home videos as a gift; I am glad I started with plenty of time because the DVD would almost finish writing and then I would be informed that the disc couldn't actually hold the information I put on it, so I had to start all over again. The volume of DVDs makes up for it, but if I needed all 50, I would have been seriously disappointed. The product got here quickly and the ones that worked work very well, though!

I burn a lot of DVD's. I usually buy Verbatim 95037. I noticed these Verbatim 95101's were quite a bit cheaper. They had a good rating on disc sites that track media, so why not. 10 coasters in the first 30 burns is why not. The message from the software is "Power Calibration Area Is Full" which in code writer language means this disc is cheap trash. I tried cutting the write speed as low as 4x without success.

Pay a few bucks more and buy the 95037's.

Verbatim disks have done a very reliable recording job for me. I appreciate the new packaging for that avoids movement of the disks in shipping that can cause microscratching. Other brands have some rejected disks in the stack; but Verbatim
has not. PS. Did you know that Verbatim published a small booklet " Tone Up at the Terminals" ? It is all about
useful exercise right at your computer desk. You will want a copy.

I bought these dvds to copy files on my computer. I had used Maxell with great success. I tried the first 2 disks here, and they FAILED! As I have opened the package, I cant return the item. I have had no problems with Maxell, and I will go back to them. . My advice is ... DONT BUY VERBATIM! A WASTE OF MONEY! THESE ARE ( expletive deleted).

Can you really beat Verbatim? I say no. I have their thumb drives, and external drive, and
discs. I have NEVER been disappointed by the Verbatim product. Yes, they are just discs, I know.
BUT................ I have never had even ONE, corrupt disc in all that I have purchased in the last 20 years.
I think that's enough said!

After trying, and failing to record the first 4 discs I trashed the rest. Each time it froze my DVR for 30 minutes while trying to dub from my HDD to DVD. Will use up the rest of my Memorex which work, and purchase more. Live and learn.

Purchased this on sale, along with their CD-R spindle. Both work flawlessly. I used this to install a fresh operating system, also good for home videos, and as a storage Disk for PC files.
