I have looked high and low for an illuminated keyboard to work with my APPLE and finally found one that works. It isn't a whiz-bang whistle and bells keyboard, but it is illuminated and works without issue. it is a bit noisier than I wanted, but not bad for me. Don't get this for the speakers thinking you'll get fantastic sound because you won't, but if desk clutter is more an issue for you than stereo sound quality this will fit the bill. I wish I could get it in white to match the whole APPLE white thing, maybe something for verbatim to think about. I hope this helps anyone that got lost in the whole quandary I was lost in.

This keyboard is awesome, the best part is the blue back lighting,it is well made,it has a glossy piano finish which makes it look very modernit is not bulky, you can control itunes w/this board and you can turn off the lights if you want, the only bad about this board is that the sound quality is poor on the speakers and you cannot play other speakers at the same time other than that it rocks, there is hardly any backlit boards for mac so this is quite a pleasure to have. Also the picture does not give it justice, you have to see it in person,it looks much better live.

'Techno Dad' Mike Ferrara really enjoyed Verbatim's Speaker Keyboard - with built in speakers, iTunes controls and stylish design, this 'tech toy' got a BIG Techno Dad Thumbs Up!

Great and not so good.,

GREAT SOUND SYSTEM! Keyboard looks good, comfortable, with adjustable leg angles. The backlight sucks! Too much light around the keys (blinding, and no dimmer) and not enough light inside the keys to light letters up. Also, when I turn off the back light, the keyboard emits a loud humming noise, even with the sound turned off. But GREAT SPEAKERS for music, games and movies.

GOOD: The backlight works well. Cool looking keys.BAD: The keyboard's speakers make a popping/cracking sound whenever they are turned on. Keys are badly unresponsive when the bottom keyboard props are up, making angling the keyboard useless. Unplugging and replugging the keyboard sometimes helps solve the issue. Backlight could be a bit brighter; the keys are pretty dark in the dark. Update: After ~1 month of use, it quit today and wouldn't respond at all.

I bought this keyboard looking for an illuminated keyboard for my iMac. I thought since it was specifically made for the Mac that this would be the best fit. Unfortunately this keyboard does not work. The computer recognizes key commands only some of the time, depending on which program you are using. It did not work at all with Pages, Assassin's Creed, or Presonus Studio One. I contacted Verbatim and they had me return my keyboard to them at my expense for shipping to the tune of $27, which is more than half the cost of the keyboard. They sent me a replacement which has the exact same issues. I contacted them again asking for a fix or a return of my money. They will no longer return my emails. So I'm out $75 and have a nonfunctioning keyboard. DO NOT BUY THIS KEYBOARD!!!! DO NOT EXPECT VERBATIM TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS OR TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS FAIRLY!!!!

Misses the target for its most basic use: typing,

Although I've happily been using with my Macbok Pro an Apple keyboard from an old Quicksilver tower, I've been spoiled by the MBP's lighted keyboard. I wanted a full-sized keyboard with the same lighting, to use at home in dimmer lighting. This was the only one I could find. After going through the extra steps -- and time -- of shipping it to a friend for reshipment to me (Amazon couldn't ship it to an APO address), I was very disappointed. The lighting is great. The speakers weren't bad for what they are, and I wasn't even looking for that feature in a keyboard. The keyboard is mostly plastic, but it seems sturdy enough. A minor annoyance was the loss of the extra USB ports the Apple keyboard had, which caused me to get a small USB hub instead.A major problem, and completely unacceptable, is the poor typing experience. The key touch feels cheap, somehow; it isn't smooth, there is an initial resistance to pressing the key, and it's a bit noisy. Worse, the keyboard throws spurious characters when I'm typing. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the world's best typist. I was much better in the old typewriter days. I make plenty of typos on my own; I don't need the keyboard to throw in its own. Getting a hidden password right is nearly impossible, as proven when trying to log in on Amazon. I type 5 characters; 6 or 7 or 8 show up. I type two words; the first couple of letters in the second word somehow appear in the middle of the first word! Slowing down and typing each character very deliberately helps somewhat, but the problem still exists. The main use for a keyboard is typing, and this keyboard isn't much use for that. I've put a lamp on my desk and gone back to the old Apple keyboard.
