5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Results
When I saw the vinyl CDs, I thought I'll give them a try for a new batch of our band's demo CDs. Burning them was as simple as always, and I had no problems whatsoever with their vinyl surface -- either burning them on the computer or playing them in any CD player.

The most amazing thing, however, was the reaction of the people who received those vinyl CDs...

2.0 out of 5 stars half the package
If you have Verbatim Digital Vinyl CD-Rs you've probably run into a problem: how do you label them? There isn't much room to write on them and conventional labels would ruin the nostalgic look -- even if you could get them to stick.

You'll need these labels -- they're the right size to fit on the core without covering the vinyl look-alike surface...

You'll need these labels -- they're the right size to fit on the core without covering the vinyl look-alike surface. Unfortunately, you'll also need software, or at least a template, to print the labels, and this package doesn't have any software. I tried Verbatim's website, but no software there, either. I sent them a request for info, but that was weeks ago and they haven't answered me. I'm no longer holding my breath.

When I saw the vinyl CDs, I thought I'll give them a try for a new batch of our band's demo CDs. Burning them was as simple as always, and I had no problems whatsoever with their vinyl surface -- either burning them on the computer or playing them in any CD player.

The most amazing thing, however, was the reaction of the people who received those vinyl CDs. Together with the special stick-on labels that I had also ordered and printed up, the demo CDs really looked like miniature versions of good-old-fashioned vinyls. The people who received those demo vinyl CDs were smiling. Now you have to understand, we are a classic rock band, so most of our potential clients are a little older and still remember vinyl records and turntables.

So, I'm ready to re-order.

2.0 out of 5 stars wasteful bad cover up, January 15, 2008

There has got to be another answer!

What a wasteful manner - this design. Each 5 x 11 page contains two labels. That is it. Two labels. The remainder of the page is labels for jewel cases and other random things I will never use. Besides that, the cover-up is not ideal. The white label is nearly see-thru... Anyway, I just got the package in the mail today, and I also bought the special Label Kit from Verbatim, but I feel like it was a big waste of money and space, and I am going to look for other options.

5.0 out of 5 stars Verbatim Digital Vinyl the best, September 13, 2007
This review is from: Verbatim 40PK CD-R DIGITAL VINYL REFILL ( 94667 ) (Electronics)
I have used the Digital Vinyl labels and they are most easy to use. The Digital Vinyl discs are the only CDs I have been able to use that don't eventually crap out in my car cd player. They seem to live through almost everything. Don't really understand the problem with other raters using the labels. Surething CD Labeler has a template for Digital Vinyl and you can also print to the Digital Vinyl directly if you have an Epson printer with the cd printer tray.

Like others whose reviews I read before ordering, I was knocked out by how "cool" these look (and am old enough to own crates and crates of albums <smile>) but am most impressed with the quality. Burned > 50 and yet to make a 'coaster'. These are 'way cool!'

This is a great accompaniment to the Digital Vinyl CDs. My only complaint is that the CDs come in packs of 25 and the labels come in packs of 40.

2.0 out of 5 stars Could be much better, March 24, 2007

Verbatim doesn't make it clear on the packaging that you're supposed to use their special label application contraption (sold separately), as well as the software to print on the labels. As it is, I already have a CD label applicator, but no... You need the SPECIAL one for these. Nice. Must we insist on proprietary equipment for something as simple as a CD label? C'mon, Verbatim. You can do better.
