Amazon.com Product Description

Verbatim appeals to folks who love the audio performance of CDs but fondly recall the funky aesthetics of vinyl with this quintet of CD-R discs. Digital Vinyl CD-Rs are modeled after 45 rpm singles, with grooved black circles surrounding album labels in the center. Despite the retro designs, the discs are still irrepressibly modern, offering the rugged quality and performance expected of Verbatim CD-R technology. The attention-getting discs are great for transferring delicate LP collections, making a standout business presentation, or simply burning your personal music mix. Each disc in this multicolor spindle stores up to 700 MB of data or 80 minutes of music, and delivers superior write performance and broad read compatibility thanks to Verbatim's patented Azo technology. The discs also come protected by a special dual-layer coating that safeguards data for years to come. Multicolor Digital Vinyl CD-R make it easy to color-match music genres, digital photo albums, and video clips.

Spin the black circle June 4, 2005
I've been using these since they first came out with them. I've never had any trouble with them, and they look completely awesome. The only thing I didn't like was that the label had no place to write on so you had to kind of squeeze it in between things. Verbatim has now fixed this and there are two lines to write on. I am impressed both by the original classy-looking labels and the new ones that imitate old record labels of the mid-60s with brilliant colours and jazzy designs. I can't get enough of these and if they came down in price they'd be just about all I used. Verbatim's notion of making a CD-R that looked like an old 45 was brilliant. They also have a DVD-R that looks like an old reel of film, and if I had a DVD recorder I'd use those. I'll keep buying these as long as Verbatim keeps making them.

Great for Audio! April 13, 2004
I don't know what that fella was talking about that "this product doesn't work for audio"... this product works GREAT for audio. I burn these vinyl looking CDRs and play them in my cd walkman, in my van, in my home dvd player, and in my computer; and they play everywhere just fine. In fact, of the about 50 of these I have made so far, I have yet to make a coaster. Also check out the labels and the blue labeler thingy that Verbatim make, very cool.

Slow burn? July 12, 2004
According to the verbatim web site, these are rated to burn at 16x -- not the common 48x. Sometimes you have to move slow to be cool.

not for my machine.
I bought these because they are made to look like old 45's. I figuered because of this, they were audio cd's. Read more

As advertised
The discs work great but the area of the "label" left open for your own markings is limited. I like the throwback appeal.
