This little guy begins to work immediately, requiring no software additions whatsovever. It's simply a matter of plugging the tiny "Nano wireless receiver" into a USB port, and you're good to go (assuming you installed the single AAA battery into the mouse correctly - something I failed to do on my first pass, putting it in wrong-side-up).
The mouse is small but it has its left and right click buttons are large enough to be used comfortably, and I quickly developed a good feel for its small scroll-wheel. The mouse fits so easily inside the palm of my hand that it can barely be seen when I'm using it and, in fact, it is so light that I almost forget that I'm actually using a mouse.
There is room inside the mouse cover - alongside the inserted battery - to store the nano wireless receiver when traveling. However, the receiver is so small that it can be safely left in place when traveling with little fear that something will happen to it or that it might be lost. I think this would be a better option, too, because the cover itself is more likely to be broken by constantly removing and replacing it than is the chance that the receiver might accidentally come umplugged and lost.
Other things I like about the mouse: (1)both sides have a lightly "rubberized" feel to them, giving the mouse a comfortable feel to the fingers you will use to guide it,(2) there is an on-off switch under the mouse that should significantly increase the life of its AAA battery, and (3) the gray color of the mouse makes a nice match for most laptops and netbooks.
My only complaint?Read more ›
This has been several months coming, but I am just now getting around to updating this review. In August, 4 months after receiving the mouse, the buttons started to become non-responsive. The mouse wheel somehow became screwed up and scrolling up or down would just cause the page you are looking at to pop back to the top. It was so horribly annoying that I had to replace it. This was after only a few months of moderate use with a laptop. I guess my search for the perfect mini mouse isn't over yet.
I have never been a fan of track pads, and so having a mini mouse for use with my laptop and netbook is an absolute must. I've tried several not-so-cheap versions of the mini mouse over the last few years and they have all failed me. Either they weren't very responsive, they ate batteries, or they died within only a few months of light use.
But not this baby! For being so inexpensive, I really wasn't expecting much, but this little mouse has really impressed me. The USB plug is so small that it's not a danger to itself like all the other mini mice I have had. It sticks out maybe 1/4 inch from the port and even when bumped isn't going to go anywhere or damage anything. Granted, this means it's easier to lose, but the beauty of it really lies in the fact that you don't have to take it out. Ever. My laptop still fits in all my bags and cases with the USB plug intact. Love it!
Another seemingly obvious but often overlooked feature that this little mouse boasts is an on/off switch. Genius! This is the first mini mouse I have owned (and I've had many!) that has an on/off switch. What does this mean? Why, it means your batteries last much much longer.Read more ›
I have small hands and have a hard time finding a mouse that is comfortable for use over long periods of time. What is a "travel" mouse for some, is a home mouse for me. This one is comfortable. The mouse moves easily and the tracking is fast. The buttons offer just the right amount of resistance (not too much, not too little) and the scroller works well. If you have big hands, you might find the size uncomfortable, but the footprint is smaller than a credit card, so it would be easy to pack. I also like that the little USB plug is stored in the battery compartment for travel - less chance of losing it.
I would have given this mouse 5 stars, but I've started deducting a star for impossible to open clam shell boxes. And this box wasn't even recyclable. The least they can do when destroying my fingers is to let me recycle the beast.

Would be a fine product but the mouse wheel is unneccessarily stiff, and thus almost unsuable.Published 13 hours ago by Geoff
Terrible. What a piece of crap. And I don't write reviews but for something this crappy I feel it's my obligation to warn other potential buyers. Read morePublished 11 days ago by Daniel Kemph
My only mouse for years - perfect travel mouse. I buy these three or four at a time, traveling is hard on a mouse, the small size packs easy and it works on just about any surface. Read morePublished 19 days ago by VirtualWatts
