The growth of Jerome into one of the great industrial mining centers of the Southwest could not have happened without the railroads. They brought miners and mining executives, cattlemen, merchants,madams, tools, equipoment; and transported billions of dollars worth of copper, plus gold, silver and zinc ore. This book contains information and photogaphs about the Verde Canyon Railroad that travels from Clarkdale through scenic Sycamore Canyon to Perkinsville and back.

About the Author
Russell Wahmann first became fascinated with the railroads of the Jerome area while working on a master's thesis. His writings on historical geography and the railroads of Northern Arizona have appeared in numerous publications.
