Verdi's La Forza del Destino with great Leyla Gencer is an incredible experience of listening to the human voice in its most fascinating colors. The drama and pathos inacted through this wonderful voice is certainly overwhelming. The live recording also brings out the excitement of the opera during a real performance in spite of an inferior technical quality. For the real connoisseur this is a performance not to be missed. Her "Pace, pace o Dio" will never be forgotten with its incredible pianissimos.Di Stefano is also at his best.
