Product Description

This sarcastic Hollywood satire chronicles the life of delusional aspiring actor, Trott Felipe, as he navigates through the Hollywood underbelly without a clue. As told through Trott's own personal journal entries, it's a story of naivety, unreality and...revenge? --This text refers to the Kindle Edition edition.

From the Back Cover

"The Verge of Psychosis" is a look into the uncovered journal entries of a delusional aspiring actor: Trott Felipe. It chronicles his first year in Hollywood, pursuing his dream. Unfortunately, Trott's a $%#*&^@ idiot.

Trott's story starts off like that of any other aspiring-actor-moving-from-Iowa-to-Hollywood. You know...stapling headshots to trees in Studio Exec's neighborhoods, attending mobile acting classes on short school buses, getting assaulted for wearing camouflage, and getting kicked out of Lakers games. The usual. But what makes Trott stand out in a crowd? Nothing. Well, except his mind...maybe...but not in a good way.

Trott's driven, yet clueless. He's outgoing, yet totally secluded. And unfortunately, with all of the compromising, "open-mindedness" and conversations with inanimate objects, he doesn't realize he is slowly slipping into psychosis...and things could take a turn for the worse...

5.0 out of 5 stars An Interesting Take on the Hollywood Hopeful, July 2, 2007
By Kathy Bell (Indianapolis, IN) - See all my reviews
The main character, Trott Felipe, shows his naivety on the process of becoming an actor as he chases fame in a scam filled Hollywood. There is much satirical as well as black humor in his personal saga which results in potential disaster. An interesting take on the many hopefuls who show up regularly in Hollywood.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truth hurts. It's also damned funny., January 31, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a startling debut novel. Having struggled in Hollywood to eke out a writing/directing/editing career, I can say from experience that Brian's words are spot on. This is too funny, too painfully true, and too interesting to put down. Everyone coming here from nowhere should read this first - and be warned.

Definitely worth reading more than once.

4.0 out of 5 stars Required Reading For Any Hollywood Hopeful, May 23, 2007
By June Jordan (Los Angeles, California USA) - See all my reviews
Trott Felipe is a serial victim of Hollywood's scam mill where old tricks are spun new by web jockeys & executed by parasite lackeys. Names & locations change, stakes get higher, & risks get dangerous as this obsessed novice barrels through town & his savings. THE VERGE OF PSYCHOSIS is required reading for any Hollywood hopeful.
