Most sports documentaries induce sleep and overemphasize the importantance of winning. Veritas does neither; that's what makes the film very effective. Its main message, well-delivered: The only thing over which an athlete has complete control is his or her own attitude and behavior.

Jon Trenge's journey through his remarkable college wrestling career is told in a way that keeps you anticipating what will happen next. The pace is brisk. The film does not linger on scenes or events.

His courage to overcome nearly career-ending injuries is impressive, but the deeper message about self-control and discipline is what really comes through. The wisdom to "rise above" the unsportsmanlike conduct of others, and not to retaliate, is illustrated here in a very unique and honest way.

I also liked how the film doesn't dwell on the "making weight" issue. In fact, early in the film Jon steps on a scale at a weigh-in and the official says, "One-ninety-seven point zero." 'Nuff said. Boys and young men with experienced coaches know how to do weight training safely.

Jon Trenge is a born teacher: A generous, enthusiastic man. His energy and dedication to his sport are inspiring. Every high school athlete should see this film, regardless of sport, and their coaches need to stay in the room and watch it with them.

I watched this movie twice the first time I got it. Very motivational and inspiring.

This documentary showed a lot of behind the scenes footage that no one was really privy to outside the Lehigh squad. It also had a lot of JT's official match footage.

The DVD also has a wrestling clinic run by JT at Easton highschool. very cool addition. There's also a highlight of JT's wrestling matches.

This movie was a reminder that the people who we look up to and think "have it all" weren't necessarily "given it all" and that we all have struggles to face no matter where we are.

Much respect to Jon Trenge and Lehigh University's Mountain Hawks.

Wow, what an amazing documentary. Even if you're not a wrestler. THis story is one of true inspiration for any competitor. Trenge is an amazing athlete and a real human being. Good luck to him in his future.

Follow Jon Trenge as he achieves a victory much greater than any NCAA Championship. The film is packed with great wrestling footage as Trenge is on a conquest to the NCAA Finals. On his path he faces off against the nation's toughest and fiercest competitors to include Superman himself, Cael Sanderson. But ultimately his most difficult opponent lies within himself and the cameras captures this struggle perfectly. The pacing was very well done and had plenty of "edge of your seat" action. And the "special features" is also a big bonus, as it includes a sneak-peak of Trenge's clinic where he shows off some of his secret moves that made him a 3-time All-American.

Outstanding movie, a must see for any Jr High, High School or Colligiate wrestler - shows the heart and determination that comes from wanting to be a champion. My 14 yr old son watched it right before a big tournament and he came out with a new fresh fire, I recommend it to other wrestlers, their parents and coaches, it is a film that goes beyond wrestling it show what heart and desire can do for you, plus show the demons these young athletes face on a daily basis.Veritas
