Email the seller and check their Version for sale.
This exact Router Model is Actiontec MI424WR Revision F. and supports B/G/N wireless protocols and runs triple the speed the older REV. D that Verizon gives you for free with the FIOS Triple Play.
Verizon does not give U the faster Router.
REV F or I is the MUST HAVE router to triple your surfing speed since these routers support the N wireless protocol.

Make sure if you replace your Router Revision A,B,C,D,E Router that you purchase Revision F or I.

I'M VERY HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE!

I was disappointed that after Verizon installed my FOISE Internet that the router had such weak WIFI. I thought about the options and decided to buy a second FOISE Router/Cable Modem from Amazon. The cost was so cheap that it was my lowest cost option. I had considered running cable between floors but I wasn't sure I could actually do this. I found instructions on how to make my second router into a gateway. Once I set up the second router I had very good coverage. Everything worked perfectly.

I called Verizon and told them I am thinking about canceling because my router is to slow even after i upgraded the speed. I told her the router quits and comes back on several times during the day! I also told her i had did all the troubleshooting with tech support the other day (NOT). The conversation ended with me getting money off my bill every month and a new free MI424WR router in the mail which took 1 day to come. GO GET YOURS FREE!!

It works like a champ....
I use it to extend my Fios network at home....
You have to use it as a Coaxial Bridge but still gives you great speeds.....

I've just swapped out my D for an F router. I'll admit ... the F's wireless speed is faster than the D's but these don't hold a candle to the D-Link. I'm getting twice the speed with my D-Link as measured by "Speedtest.net". My 'D' router finally failed and Verizon was good enough to replace with the upgraded 'F' on my FIOS system. The D-Link router is NOT a plug and play with FIOS, but I hardwire my D-Link to one of the LAN ports and use the FIOS bandwidth (I've purchased 30/15 MBs service) hooking wirelessly to my computers (3 different Mac Laptops). The computers have nothing to do with the speed except the H/W and S/W are able to handle the FIOS speed. It's just that these Actiontec routers aren't capable of true 'N' speeds. Sorry ... check out your true wireless speeds, yourself, on Speedtest.net.

I have been a Fios customer since 2005 in Fort Worth TX. I have ALWAYS used Linksys routers and ignored the Verizon Actiontecs. They kept sending them to me and I just set them in the closet. Finally this week I had a problem with my IP address changing every few hours. I called them and they refused to work on it since the router was not theirs. Out of the closet came the MI424WR rev e with a single wifi antenna that they sent a year ago in another attempt to get me to install it. I put it in and it took about 20 minutes to configure like my Linksys e4200. There were noticeable decreases in performance over wifi, but about the same performance via wired ethernet.

I complained to Verizon support since my IP address was still resetting. They sent me a new Actiontec which is a rev 'i' with 2 wifi antennas. I received this today. In the meantime they fixed my IP issue since it had absolutely NOTHING to do with the router. I am trying to determine if I should install this new rev i version, or go back to my Linksys e4200 since it was clearly better than the version e router.

My point is that you absolutely do not have to use the Actiontec router, unless of course you call customer service. I will report back on how the rev i works vs the rev e.
