Top Customer Reviews
I will give you two really useful tips, these two things were enough to take it from 3-stars to 4-stars:
1) Find the setting for "Wi-Fi range" and set it for "Shorter" -- it's under the WiFi settings which are available via your browser. This took my battery life from a ridiculous barely-3-hours to 7 or 8 hours. Huge.
2) If you're in moderate but not great coverage, try the "Force LTE" mode -- it really seems to help responsiveness quite a bit. The mode-switching logic seems to be very bad in the radio.
Functionally it is very unstable! I have a Galaxy Note 3, S4 and an iPad, and they all maintain sporadic connectivity. The Note 3 returns an error message that the connection was dropped due to a slow internet connection. The S4 returns an error message that the connection is unstable. The iPad doesn't display an error, it simply drops the connection.
I took the device back to the Verison store where I purchased it, and they shipped me a replacement under warranty. The replacement performs just as poorly. Back to the Verizon store I go!
so, BUYER BEWARE!! IT'S NOT WHAT IT IS MADE OUT TO BE.
My big complaint is with Verizon customer service. I spent quite literally 3 hours on the phone, repeatedly getting kicked off by their automated function, being passed from person to person, being on hold for 30 minutes at a time. Some of the customer service people I spoke to did not even know what a Jetpack was. I followed the instructions that come with the Jetpack and also that are on the top up card exactly, and I could not get through to the right person, or even the correct automated function. I tried every single option with their automated service and could not get through, being told that they were having technical difficulties. I was also unable to get set up online, although with only having Edge network on my cell phone my searching capability was limited, so maybe it is possible. It was highly frustrating, and their system is very flawed. When I did finally get through to someone who knew what they were doing, they said my account had not been set up. There is no way to set up your account via phone until you speak to the right person, and no way to get through to the right person via the auto system. It is so badly implemented.Read more ›
