It works fine. I think cellular reception is moderate, particularly if on-end, but it works.

I will give you two really useful tips, these two things were enough to take it from 3-stars to 4-stars:

1) Find the setting for "Wi-Fi range" and set it for "Shorter" -- it's under the WiFi settings which are available via your browser. This took my battery life from a ridiculous barely-3-hours to 7 or 8 hours. Huge.

2) If you're in moderate but not great coverage, try the "Force LTE" mode -- it really seems to help responsiveness quite a bit. The mode-switching logic seems to be very bad in the radio.

This device is not ready for release. I purchased as a replacement for an older model Jetpack -- which worked beautifully. This device is considerably bulkier than the previous model. One would think with advances in technology it would be smaller. The user touch interface is not particularly sensitive. I have to tap several times to get a response or apply an excessive amount of pressure to get a response.

Functionally it is very unstable! I have a Galaxy Note 3, S4 and an iPad, and they all maintain sporadic connectivity. The Note 3 returns an error message that the connection was dropped due to a slow internet connection. The S4 returns an error message that the connection is unstable. The iPad doesn't display an error, it simply drops the connection.

I took the device back to the Verison store where I purchased it, and they shipped me a replacement under warranty. The replacement performs just as poorly. Back to the Verizon store I go!

i purchased a jetpack directly from Verizon and had nothing but problems. Every night I have to take the battery out, the sim card out, reset it with a paperclip , replace both close the back and then still will get messages that there is not internet access. even though on my laptop it shows that there should be a connection. I have attempted to just return that useless to me gadget, but now i am told that there is no way to get out of the contract that I entered believing that it was a good thing unless I pay 165$. Which is bunk also. I phoned Verizon's customer service several times, been on the phone at least 1 hour, 2 hours and they seem to think that the jetpack is working properly after they "help", then 10 minutes later, i have the same problems. Now they say that my laptop is at fault and that I need to have it worked on, also bunk.
so, BUYER BEWARE!! IT'S NOT WHAT IT IS MADE OUT TO BE.

Please note that I have a no contract version of the Jetpack. Now that it is set up, it works great. I am able to do all the functions I do on my home internet, including streaming. The wireless range isn't very far but it doesn't matter as it's extremely portable (which is the whole point). The 4G is truly fast and I have no complaints. I compared all plans that would work in my area, and Verizon was the cheapest for gigabytes of data use, although the hardware is a little more expensive than some of the smaller competition. It is a better deal all around than AT&T though.

My big complaint is with Verizon customer service. I spent quite literally 3 hours on the phone, repeatedly getting kicked off by their automated function, being passed from person to person, being on hold for 30 minutes at a time. Some of the customer service people I spoke to did not even know what a Jetpack was. I followed the instructions that come with the Jetpack and also that are on the top up card exactly, and I could not get through to the right person, or even the correct automated function. I tried every single option with their automated service and could not get through, being told that they were having technical difficulties. I was also unable to get set up online, although with only having Edge network on my cell phone my searching capability was limited, so maybe it is possible. It was highly frustrating, and their system is very flawed. When I did finally get through to someone who knew what they were doing, they said my account had not been set up. There is no way to set up your account via phone until you speak to the right person, and no way to get through to the right person via the auto system. It is so badly implemented.

This is my third mobile hotspot. I had my second one (3G) for several years until Verizon talked me into upgrading to this one. Now I am stuck with this piece of garbage which I cannot use plus 20 more months on my contract. First off, it never reached 4G, so they sent me a replacement. It still cannot reach 4G but worse than that, it literally sucks my monthly allowance within one day. This device has ruined my confidence in Verizon and I have been a Verizon customer for 19 years.

This device did not work after Verizon confirmed that it would in my area prior to purchase. When I returned the product, they charged me a $35 restock fee. Very disappointed in this product and Verizon.

This is the third "Jetpack" that I've had, and think that it is by far the best. The battery life and connection speeds are both better than the earlier models, even in the same service areas. I'm very happy with it. Mobile Hotspots are a much better option than paying extra for an LTE antenna in each of your devices.
