5.0 out of 5 stars 'Verliebt...', February 28, 2006
By
This review is from: Verliebt (Audio CD)
I am really surprised to see this album available on Amazon. Being in the rave and club scene since the late 90's and as albums come and go in my collection, this album totally makes the grade. For an album that is almost a decade old, I have never heard anything that sounds even remotely similar (thanks to Paralyzer who produces most of the music and Blümchen's voice). Even to this day, I still listen to all her albums regularly. This album is special...

Although sung in all German, (you can find translation notes on the internet) I must say that the lyrics are fun, uncomplicated and simple. There are no heavy undertones in the lyrics and the music incorporated with the lyrics will make you want to dance and put you in good spirits. The songs are bright and colorful and will definitely bring a smile to your face, even if you don't understand the German language.

All songs on this album have a great happy hardcore and techno rhythm except Gib Mir Noch Zeit which is more of a ballad. All of the songs contained within the album speak of love, falling in love, jealousy, and relationships.

I have had the opportunity to purchase the gold edition of this album which includes a bonus CD with her music videos and pictures. I am glad that Verliebt is available on Amazon so others can be able to enjoy her songs. There is an English language version of this ablum called 'In Love...' which is somewhat difficult to find now, but if you can find it, do yourself a favor and pick it up.

It's a bit disappointing that she did not get a whole lot of recognition here in the United States as compared to Germany and Europe, because she is awesome! She sings from the heart and knows how to get you on the dance floor with your hands in the air. This is what makes her amazing in my opinion!

I have to say that this album is not for everyone. As with all music, you will either love it or hate it. Upon speaking with individuals whom I had the opportunity to share this album with, after listening to it some liked the album and some thought it was annoying. I most certainly love it! 5 stars does not do this album justice. If you enjoy happy hardcore, techno, and electronica music, this album is sure to please.

Although she has finished her music career in the year 2000, she will hold a special place in my heart and in my music library.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just... WOW!, September 15, 2005
This review is from: Verliebt (Audio CD)
I first discovered happy hardcore in '99 and was immediately enchanted by it. The hard, bouncy beats, uplifting lyrics, and the almost child-like joy certain songs can evoke greatly appealed to me. Through the years I thought I'd heard it all: Hullabaloo, seeing Anabolic Frolic, Brisk, Paulina Taylor, Twinkleboi and various other happycore DJs live, compiling an impressive collection of CDs (both general release and specialty mixes from dear friends of mine)... but I've never in all these years heard ANYTHING like this! I was absolutely astounded by the fact that this was create in '97!! The feel of the music is so timeless... it's light years ahead of anything I've heard here in the States. It's such a shame I discovered Blümchen so late in the game (so to speak) and that she's since stopped making such wonderful music. Within the first 30 seconds of popping in this CD, I had the biggest grin I've worn in a LONG time.

As is, I'm still blown away by it... and I'll most definitely be recommending it to a couple happycore DJ friends of mine (I'm surprised they haven't heard of her yet!), and I can guarantee I'll know all the lyrics within a few weeks, nevermind the fact I don't speak a lick of German!

Awesome CD with great bouncy songs, lyrics that make you feel giddy-happy even though you can't understand them, and an unbelievable energy. Definitely recommended for anyone who loves Happy Hardcore!

5.0 out of 5 stars Healthy Dose of Bluemchen, April 19, 2000

This music is incredible. If you're looking for an alternative to caffine to get you up and going in the morning, Bluemchen is your answer. Jasmin's voice is uplifting, energetic, and better than downing RedBull. Amazing. I eventually bought all of Bluemchen's 3 album's for the ridiculously high price of $30 each, but ohh was it ever worth it. As a matter of fact, I'm listening to Verleibt's Eisblumen as I type. Rarely do I ever find a CD in which I like every song, but Bluemchen is the first where I have loved every song on every album! Very addicting music!

4.0 out of 5 stars German Happy Hardcore comes full circle, August 12, 2005

Blumchen is now retired as far as I know. Starting her career at the tender age of 16, her heartfelt voice was heard all over Europe. She did release an english version of her first album, but didn't make any sales here in North America because the general population doesn't understand good music unless the artist gets half naked on the cover. Musically speaking, the songs follow a similar rhythem of happy hardcore and dance style beats. This formula works for a while, but Blumchen was wise NOT to go the same route with all of her CD releases. As far as lyrics go there really is nothing that stands out here. But thats ok as well. Sometimes it's nice to listen to music that doesn't cater to politics or world peace or gender bashing. So pop her in for a listen, it's godo stuff.

This is the 2nd CD out of 5 that Blümchen has made so far,and while all 5 are WUNDERBAR and a must buy, this one still remains my favorite. Each one of her CD's captures a different sound and is done in a different style. This one is her most techno/rave orientated CD with a driving techno beat thats is just plain fun to listen to,guaranteed to get your toe tappin and put a smile on your face =) Even if you don't speak or understand german, you will LOVE this CD! If you are only going to get one of her CD's get this one, but i say BUY THEM ALL! Blümchen ist am besten!(Blümchen is the Best!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the best!!!, August 3, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Verliebt (Audio CD)
Bluemchen, Jasmin Wagner, young German artist, makes you happy just by opening her mouth. Her voice is crystal-bright. The music in "Verliebt" is following guidelines set by her previous album, classified somewhere between happy hardcore and rave. Most of the tracks are composed by Paralyzer, who really knows his job. My personal favorites are "Hertz an Hertz" (Heart to heart) and title track "Verliebt". All tracks are recorded to sound good in modern hifi systems in car and at home. Try "Hertz an Hertz" in Dolby Surround - her voice will surround you all around! Warmly recommende!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Her First & Second Album On Here, March 9, 2005
This review is from: Verliebt (Audio CD)
Herzfrequenz:This is Her First and Maybe the worst of her albums. In fact I think that her first two albums are way worse than her previous 2.Whatever both albums offers a lot of fun and funny lyrics as long as catchy tunes and verses, even though you can't understand a german word.

1.Herz An Herz-10.Her first single and the most successful. It's catchy and you will NEVER get sick of it.It was #4 in Germany and sold over 1,5 million copies worldwide
2.Rosa Wolke-10.This is just the perfect single! But unfortunately,it wasn't.Is maybe the catchiest song on here, with a great "parapa" part on it.
3.Komm Auf Meinen Stern-6,5.It is very listenable because of Jasmin's sweeeeet voice, but is a bit repetitive.
4.Kleiner Satellit-10.Her second single.I love this song so much!I love it even more than her first one.In one word:Infectious!.The video was great too ^_^.It was #9
5.Liebe Liebe-6,75.Also a good song but a bit repetitive.
6.Herzen Haben Fluegel-7,25.I quite like this song,I like the beats and her voice
7.Du Und Ich-9,5.This was her third single.It just amazing,very very catchy.I loved the video too.It charted @ #17
8.Odyssee In 3-D-9,5.Another favourite!I just think this song is one of the catchiest and the beats are awesome!.Shame it wasn't released as a single.
9.Boomerang-10.Her 4th single of this album. The video was soooo awesome!.This is just as catchy as her other singles. It charted at #11
10.Du Und Ich (Remix)-10.Even better than the original
11.Kleiner Satellit (Kosmos Klassik Mix)-9 Not as great as the single version, but yet cool.
12.Herz An Herz (Herzattackenhaus Mix)-7.It's not as good as the original one
13.Bicycle Race-8,75.Her first(or 5th)and only English single. It was not very successful(#29) but it's catchy and has great beats. It's a cover version of Queen's "Bicycle Race"

Verliebt:Her Second album its just as good as the first one.The same simple lyrics and catchy tunes and chrouses ^_^
Verliebt

1. Nur Geträumt-10.This is one of my favourites songs and video. It's amaaaazing!!You have to listen to it.It was #6
2. Schmetterlinge-8,75.I like it a lot very great verses
3. Du Bist Die Insel-5,5.Not very catchy
4. Er Liebt Mich-7,8.This is a bit childish but soooooo catchy!
5. Übermorgenland-4.I don't like it,well i like the beats though
6. Gib Mir Noch Zeit-10.Her third single on this album(#8 of her whole career) is an amazing ballad. She sounds perfect and the beats are quite fast. This was another top 10 hit(#9)
7. Eisblumen-6.Is not bad,but not the best song
8. Reise Durch Die Zeit-6,5.Same as number 7
9. Achterbahn-4 Not much into it.A bit boring
10. Engel Der Nacht-9.This is just amazing!A great song with great beats.Maybe one of her 3 best songs in this album.
11. S.O.S. -Herz in Not-10.This song is so lovely she sounds so sweet. Is catchy as hell.
12. Verrückte Jungs-9.This version is not as good as the single one.It was the third single of this album and went straight to #22.The video was cool.
13.-Sesam Jam-8,5.This song grew on me SO much!.Is sooo catchy but childish.Anyway the video was quite good and the single was #26 even though it was in the top 40 for an impressive 14 weeks.
