Good ideas and suggestions,

This review is from: The Verlinden Way Volume II (Paperback)
This book, Verlinden's second on dioramas, gives much more explanations than the first book. Each one of the about two dozen dioramas gets a short article, with helpful notes on building, painting, planning, and so on.The special section on the Sherman is quite good, though possibly dated; there have appeared modern Sherman kits which don't have the shortcomings fixed in the book, so you wouldn't have to work so much to get fine results. Finally, the very last article (by Sheperd Paine) is, for me, the best part of the whole book. The "wolf in sheep clothing" diorama (a Flak 88 hiding in a church) is described from the very beginning (planning) to its end (the finished diorama).

This review is from: The Verlinden Way Volume II (Paperback)
Verlinden was among the first of the people who took model building to a whole new level making an art form. ANY book that shows his insights and his how tos is worth the price of admission! This isn't an easy to find book and seldom do you find it at a discounted price, if you find it at all. A most worth buy, especially if are are an up and coming model builder.

very useful for the beginner as for the more experienced,
This review is from: The Verlinden Way Volume II (Paperback)
Indoubtly one of the more useful books of the "Verlinden way" along with #3.
An accurate step by step guide on how to obtain the best results from a model in terms of painting, detailing, srachbuilting. Highly recomended for both the beginner and the more sophisticate modeller. |
