5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, December 4, 2005

This game is an amazing way to introduce young children and adults alike to French royal history. My brother and I played this when we were in middle school. When we took a family trip to France, he and I didn't even need a map in Versailles! Because of the game, we not only knew the layout of the entire Chateau, but we were familiar with most of the artists who built it and decorated it. Lots of fun and intriguing with puzzles, I highly recommend this game!

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly a fabulous game!, December 20, 2005

This review is from: Versailles 1685 a Game of Intrigue at the Court of Louis XIV (CD-ROM)
I was given this game about 6 years ago because a friend knew of my love for Versailles and French History up to and including the Revolution.

I was looking to see if the game had been upgraded from the quality typical of games developed almost a decade ago and it appears it has - so I'm buying!

However, the game 6 years ago was pretty amazing and totally engrossing in a way unmatched by other video games. Full of intrigue and interesting vignettes - beautiful architecture, decor, costumes and laden with historical fact you will thoroughly enjoy.

I went back to the game about a year ago and found it challenging all over again - I can't wait to get my upgraded version

This is a unique game of mystery and deduction, with the added allure of being set in the palace of Versailles. Highly recommended.
