I bought this with hesitation. It looks cheap, but I wanted something that could charge my extra battery while I was using the camcorder and I needed the option of charging in the car. When the item arrived it was just as expected, hollow and cheap - I almost didn't want to put one of my batteries in it.

To my surprise the charger is AMAZING! Not only does it give you versatility in how you charge your batteries, but it charges them MUCH FASTER than through the camcorder. The charger also features red and green LEDs that let you know when your battery is charged so you don't over-do it. I use this thing all the time, it's great!

This charger is cheaper, smaller and even charges is the vehicle, why pay for the original canon charger when you can charge on the go for less.

I received this versatile charger and it was a bunch of plastic adaptors that were really junky. I sent it back because it would not charge my canon battery because the contacts were too flimsy. However the company Accessory Genie was very good about getting me a refund.

Basically, the charger just didn't work. It was the correct one, but must have been defective. It was cheap enough that it's not worth my time returning it.

I use this with my Canon HV20's batteries, and I have no complaints so far. Makes a slight hissing sound when charging (like the sound of someone blowing through a straw, only extremely quietly), but I have no reason to believe that's abnormal or harmful in any way. Awesome price! Indicator light shows you when the battery is finished charging. It really is funny how much we judge the quality of a product by the picture associated with the product (in this case, I'd say the product is far superior). Would buy again.

Lost the original charger and ordered this.

It's worked as advertised, quick and easy to understand.
