Book Description

August 7, 2006
The inspiration for this book of poetry evolved from various life experiences. These shared experiences have encouraged and cultivated me to endure many struggles along with rewards in life. It has allowed me to focus on my inner qualities that display no distinctive shade or design to the human eye. My life goals are to always strive to live the way I was raised; to respect, be God fearing, and treat others appropriately. I encourage you to read with an open heart and mind. These poems are apart of my life; my desire is to bring reality through words for the reader. Allow the poems to bring a sense of strength, endurance, confidence, understanding, truth, and peace to your life.

About the Author

Carmelita Moore-Nix was born, in Kansas City, Missouri to Alvin and Dolly Moore. She is the eldest daughter, born to her parents. She grew up and was preserved through the inner city life of Kansas City. She began writing poetry in her pre-teens. It allowed her for the moment to live outside the boundries of a teenage girls growing pain. She always focused on being the best in every thing to include home, church and school activities. Now a truly devoted woman to her family and positive living she never forgets to ackowledge her blessings. The transformation took place through others experiences, bad breakups, crushes on a cute guy or daydreams of what she would become when she grew up. Sometimes the poems made no sense to her when she read them back to herself, to others the poems were crystal clear. She enjoyed writing when she was in her pre-teens more than anything; it took her away from her day-to-day issues, which allowed her to feel so carefree. It allowed her for the moment to live outside the bounders of a teenage girl growing pain. She always focused on being the best in every thing to include home, church and school.Graduating from Van Horn Engineering & Technology High School in 1991. She thought high school was the most amazing 4 years of my life. She made tons of friends, which of whom are still friends today. She was lucky to have had the best teachers who truly wanted to see her succeed. They pushed along with her mom, which made it impossible for her to fail. Education was a priority all through childhood for her; she thrived on the desire to succeed. Carmelita wanted to travel and get more education; the United States Air Force supplied both for her. She still felt joining the military is and will be the best decision she ever made in her life. Now a truly devoted woman to her family, she could not ask for much more.
