Jazzy, soultry, loungy... sheer chill out perfection,
By
This review is from: Version Original (Audio CD)
When I first decided to embark on a pilgrimage of music from Spain, this is the first CD I purchased. And was I impressed! This is perfect after hours music. Really made for late nights. Listen to it over a romantic dinner with your loved one... or listen to it in a time of reclusion, where there is nothing but yourself, the rain, and darkness... Just let the magnificance of the musicians and singer wash all over you. These guys are wldly popular in Espana and have been so for over a decade now and this demonstrates why. A perfect blend of jazz, soul, lounge, & Euro pop - some songs also contain beautiful European and Latin American influences & instruments which are just outstanding... just magnificent. Sit back and relax to this one...

enchanting album,

I discovered this group while on vacation in Spain and fell instantly in love. You don't have to speak Spanish to fall under the spell of Soledad Gimenez' incredible voice or the musicanship of Juan Luis Gimenez and Nacho Mano. If you appreciate bossa nova, swinging jazz, the pop of Anita Baker or just want a break from the usual fare, this album is for you.

By Jose Ramon Hernandez (Mexico) - See all my reviews

I first heard this CD when visiting a friend in Spain. Never before had I considered buying 'foreign language' music, but immediately I was hooked. Sole Giménez has to be one of the finest female vocalists in the world. This CD opened up a whole new musical world to me, dispelling the usual clichés of Spanish/Latin music. My particular favourites are Esperaré, Hazme La Noche and Nadie Como Tú. I would also recommend the CD Ser De Agua by the same group.

Once in a while you accidentally stumble upon a gem. I previewed this album in a music store. I really only had to hear about 15 seconds of the first song: "Esta tarde vi llover" to decide to buy the album on the spot. But the rest of the songs on the album are very beautiful as well. A mix of pop, jazz and melodic latin rhythms, this album is ideal for relaxation alone or ... in special company! Other choice selections from this album are "Esperare" and "Vereda Tropical". The musicianship and vocal work are pretty much up there. Enjoy.
