Why is Amazon permitting the the folks from iFinity to leave such an obvious trail of negative recent reviews for this product? Oct 26, 2013
Negative as well as positive SHILL REVIEWS are a persistent and widespread problem on Amazon...in fact, it's an entire industry (google "reputation management")...many of the biggest corporations (e.g. Bose) use them!
What makes this product "upgraded" from the previous version? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004... Sep 27, 2013
This newer version includes a delayed output relay to prevent loud speaker pops when the power is turned on / off. Also, some of the older units were sold with power supplies that couldn't quite supply enough current to provide adequate power. I've heard the newer power supplies are better. There's probably some other changes that I'm not aware of. If anyone can elaborate, please do.
Is the 2013 new version a worthy upgrade over the older LP-2020A+ model? The newer one has slightly worse reviews comparing 5 star to 1 star reviews Oct 26, 2013
The negative reviews for the "newer" version seem to come primarily from "new" Amazon reviewers who have, not verified their purchase and in their short review histories, positively reviewed iFinity products. It looks to me like some the negative reviews for the lepai amp have been faked.
There seem to be two inputs on the back - one RCA and one 3.5mm - how do you get the receiver to switch between them? Dec 4, 2013
The receiver defaults to using the 3.5mm input. If there's something playing on that input, that's what the receiver will play. If there's nothing playing on the 3.5mm input then the receiver will use the RCA input.
Does it still have the obnoxiously bright blue LED? Nov 30, 2013
I'm afraid it does.
The Lepai unit IS the receiver. You run whatever signal (computer, MP3 player, CD player) ypu are trying to amplify into the Lepai Amp via RCA connections or 1/8" (standard headphone size jack) stereo plug. Your speakers connect into the rear of the Lepai unit (standard speaker connections). I'm using this unit to power my audio from my computer. I'm using it to power (2) bookshelf size 3-way speakers. It works great in the small bedroom that I'm using in it. It's probably not big enough to adequately power speakers for use in a living or other large area.
What, exactly has been upgraded or changed in this model? They are still calling it the LP-2020A+ - is the "2013 model" the upgrade from the LP-2020? Aug 18, 2013
Pretty sure it was an upgraded power supply I have purchased 3 already no problems
If I use this with 2 speakers for my TV, can I still use the tv remote to control the volume or do I HAVE to use the volume knob on the receiver only? Dec 30, 2013
The latter...volume knob on the receiver only.
How do you connect PC speakers to the PC via this amp ? I have 2 Edifier E10s linked which I then run into PC audio front out. Sep 4, 2013
I'm using the amp for my flat screen tv, which only has a digital audio out. The tv's speakers aren't very good. I run the digital audio out to a digital to analog converter. Then it's a simple matter of hooking up some speakers. BTW, the amp is well worth the money if you can use its configuration.
