Whisper quiet and built to last,
By The Coffee Queen (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Verso by Kettler CT 307 Elliptical Cross Trainer (Sports)
It took a while to figure out how to put it all together, but it was all doable. I thought I was missing some of the screws but they were in a holding position in some of the parts, so everything was there. The "cosmetic parts" (pieces of plastic that cover the joints) were tedious to apply. Still, it was all worth it in terms of the finished product. The assembled unit is strong, smooth, and silent. I had tested several brands in sporting goods stores but this is superior in terms of strength, ride, and warranty. The display panel is nothing fancy. There are no major bells and whistles. No gimmicks. But definitely high quality unit that is built to last.

quality product,
This review is from: Verso by Kettler CT 307 Elliptical Cross Trainer (Sports)
This elliptical trainer is designed and built in Germany and is rock solid. Even purchasing probably the lowest end product, it is quality built. The monitor was confusing and the directions are not the best, but it is not so complicated that we can't figure it out. The noise level is non-existent. The footprint makes it possible to put in any room. The warranty was one of the best I found. I will reccommend this company and their products to everyone.

Sturdy and silent for compact sized elliptical,
By Jules (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews

Sturdy, compact elliptical machine. Very tedious to put together as instructions are somewhat unclear (ie. difficult to tell which washers go where). 2 wheels in the front make it easy to maneuver. Plug in for the monitor (no batteries needed). Elliptical motion glides very smoothly and is virtually silent. Looks great, the only complaint is that the plastic coverings are difficult to install securely as they do not fit perfectly and the screws do not penetrate the plastic well enough for a seamless fit. But for the quality and overall workmanship, would recommend.

Great quality, sturdy, virtually silent, affordable, ( if you compare with others in its range ),
more than enough computer programs. Also, the smallest footprint and weight in this category of ellipticals. This is why the decision to send it back after a week was not an easy one. I found the distance between the pedals unnatural, 9" measured from the inside . That makes you straddle the machine with each step, like running with outstretched feet. I am average height ( 5.7 ) and I don't see how this pedal spread would accommodate even a tall person without injuries after an extensive period of time. I have tried my best, but after one week, my knees started to give signals. It is a shame I couldn't benefit of such a well built machine, great in any other respect.

I didn't buy it through Amazon but I wanted to chime in.. I bought it at a local fitness store and after doing research , I found that the Germans can even make a good eliptical machine . Durable, quiet, and an overall good cardio workout!

My husband and I put it together in about an hour. It is a very sturdy elliptical. It is not noisy like some of the cheaper models. Great value for the price.

This product is terrible and I wish I could return it. The pedals are too far apart which causes a great deal of discomfort if you are on the machine for an extended period of time. It very loud and squeaky when in use and the bolts that connect the post to the base never stay tight. The computer is so unintuitive and hard to program that it almost makes the machine unusable. I bought a more expensive model Kettler for my parents and they haven't had any issues but this product has been nothing but a problem for us.

It is truly tragical that apparently absolutely no one within the United States has made a detailed and accurate English translation, both of the assembly instructions and of the operation procedures, for this elliptical cross trainer.
Additionally, many small suggestions which would save both the American distributor of this German product (sited in Virginia) and the new user, go unmentioned within the instuction package received with the machine itself (such as do not crank down certain bolts until such time as you have ensured that the computer is operational). Considering the price of the machine (about $700 USD) matters such as these makes for much stress, both in assembly of the product (you will have to figure it out largely unasisted) and for its subsequent use (as, for example, if your computer actually fails to start up when the unit is assembled, as did mine). And, talking to someone at the Virginia distribution site was a less that desirable experience as well (once you actually get through and speak to an actual human being, whom may then leave you on the line for prolonged periods, as did my respondant). But, amazingly, the machine itself is a dream, once one is past all the bad stuff, as outlined above. Smooth and very useful and it has but a small footprint as well. While the computer is more complicated than that on other similar machines (and the associated manual is less than user-friendly), both the heart-rate monitor and the system timer work like a charm, once one gets the hang of using them. One can only hope that the problems indicated above will be satisfactorily resolved in the near future, for the machine itself is well worth the effort and the cost to do so is entirely reasonable for what is offered to the comsumer. Not For Short Legs,

This is a decent product, and I wish it worked for me, but the pedals are too far apart. They place your feet about 11-12 inches apart, which is painful for my knees!
On the other end of the spectrum, if you're a person with large feet, you probably will not like this machine either because the pedals are quite narrow -- less than five inches across. If the pedals being far apart does not bother you, I would recommend this machine. The assembly took about 2 1/2 hours. The instructions were reasonable, but not great. There was a minor part missing, and the display did not work, but I assume the missing/broken parts could have been supplied fairly easily. Overall, it would have done the job fine if the pedals were closer together.

Kettler All the Way-Very Impressed,

This Kettler design focuses your purchase cost squarely on the all the essentials of a high quality machine. I was not interested in an SD card slot for music or for pre-arranged workouts, built in speakers or bottle holders. This is a straight forward elliptical machine that has great programs built in for a myrad of work outs. After using this regularly for over a year (200lbs male) I have to report it is still absolutely quiet, smooth and relaible. BRAVO-The best deal I could find after researching for a few months in 01/10.
