Verso Marrakesh E-Reader Cover for Kindle Fire
By LightWedge

After a two-week stint as a Confederate militiaman in 1861, a young man named Samuel Clemens joined his brother, Orion, the new Secretary of the Nevada Territory, on a stagecoach. His destination? Nowhere in particular—just west. But for Clemens, west became many things: a visit to the burgeoning Mormon settlement of Salt Lake City, a failed bid for quick riches, prospecting for gold, silver, and real estate. And then…a beginning. As the literary icon, Mark Twain.

The trip gave him the material he needed to place his folksy tell-tale style into America's consciousness for the first time with the short story, "The Notorious Jumping Frog of Calaveras County" and subsequent first novel, Roughing It.

It was the first of many sojourns for Twain, who no doubt carried his notes and journals in something that resembled the Verso Marrakesh, a buttery genuine leather trifold wrap with tiestraps. On the inside, patent-pending silicone-enhanced corner elastics keep your device secure during the roughest of globe- or neighborhood-trekking.

  • Fits your lifestyle
  • Patented strap system
  • Elegant leather closure
  • Detail of texture
  • Slim and lightweight

The Marrakesh E-Reader Cover is part of the Verso Global Collection

Global travel is like the ultimate "choose-your-own-journey" novel, and the wide-eyed lust for adventure that drives the protagonist in those books—and hopefully you on your next vacation—is the inspiration for this unique collection. These covers feature exotic materials and designs that evoke dreams of faraway places. Rich textures give a distinctive feel in the hand, and the custom details are visually stunning. Quite a line-up of attractive traveling companions!

2.0 out of 5 stars Looks great, not worth the price March 16, 2012
Verified Purchase
I ended up returning this because I didn't like how it fit.
Had to use the force to get a Fire in it, but the elastic covered the light sensor. (NB- Lightwedge alleges that it -the Medium- will also fit nook color/tablet, but the elastics push on the power and volume buttons at the top.)

The wraparound strap is a few inches too long and the pockets are super tight. If the elastics issue were resolved, I could see paying ~$40 for this, definitely not worth $70 under any circumstances.

5.0 out of 5 stars Elegant and functional February 9, 2012

I had my eye on this product for quite a long time, but the price made me a little hesitant to purchase it. I had previously purchased a Verso Prologue case for my Kindle Fire, and I was very pleased with it. I ended up giving that case away as a gift, and that's when I decided to take a chance and purchase this cover. Let me say that it looks very elegant, and it feels very soft to the touch. It is made of genuine leather, so this product is well worth the price. The outer flap is completely loose, and the strap that is attached to it is mainly there so the case can remain closed. It is a little difficult to put the Kindle Fire under the four straps, but with a little patience you'll have it on in no time. There are two compartments that are inside the case that can hold papers, or cards, etc. It is also very easy to bend the case backwards to get it out of the way when using the Kindle. All in all this product is elegant and worth the price. I would recommend it for those that are looking for a case that is both pleasing to the eye, and easy to use.

3.0 out of 5 stars Read this first February 14, 2012

I had big hopes in this case, as some one else here said, it looks old fasioned and elegant.
Materials are good quality.
Design: The back is hard as well as one of the flaps, which also has 2 pockets.
The pockets are not roomy thoug, I had a hard time sliping a piece of paper inside.
The leather strap is too long. which looks nice but is inpractical, it measures about 3 feet and it just hangs when you are reading, you may roll it and hold it or stick it under the cover when is fliped backwards but keeps comming out. with time this strap will pick up al sorts of dirt from every where you go; if you are sitting in the subway, restaurant, toilet, at work, it will tuch the floor.
The soft leather area in between the to hard boars makes it stick out when fliping the cover to the back and its akward to hold.
The upper right corner of your kindle has a light sensor (take a close look), the elastic bands that keeps the kindle in place obstruct this sensor.
The case was not designed for Kindle Fire, is not even listed in the package, it just happens to fit. That's why is hard to put it in place. It does stays in place well though.

If you flip the hard flap back and put it on a table on its side you can use it as a stand. it will stay up frimly if you dont move much.

If you like the looks and don't mind about the impractical issues and the steep price go for it.

At this price I was blindly hoping it would be flawless. I was wrong

3.0 out of 5 stars Just a leather case and over priced March 19, 2012
Verified Purchase
This item is just a case that happens to be leather but clearly over-priced. This case should be more in the range of $20-25.00. Why? Well, the case just fits the Kindle Fire but very snuggly. The pockets cannot even fit a credit card. You have one long leather string, which was mentioned here that really is cumbersome. So, the only real benefit is that for those that already have a dark chocolate leather brief case, etc, you have a winning set. I recommend shoppers looking in their local mall, in shops such as Coach, Wilson's Leather Goods, etc., for a better and more affordable match for this one is over-rated and over-priced. So, I give it three stars because I have a matching leather bag and that's very generous.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it! Classy! February 11, 2012

I chose this because I am a sucker for anything that looks "old". It reminded me of the old leather covered journals that you would have seen 1920's and 1930's. It is genuine leather, so I expect it will last for as long as I want it to. I can't say enough how nice it looks. The front flap is even sturdy enough that you can stand it up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Classic Perfection December 17, 2012
This by far is the best case I have ever had. It is amazing that it is all real leather. It gives me a feeling that I am holding a first class travel journal on my way to a rustic African safari. The fit was secure and tight for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and I have no fear for my device at all. I fell in love with this when I first saw it but after looking at the price I searched Amazon and Google for a better deal. I found in through Amazon with jr.com. I saved almost $60 just with five minuted of online research which made this product even better. I have used it at work, in the park, at the coffee shop, and around the house and I am very happy with it. The case makes it so much easier to hold and has a couple of slip pockets on the inside for notes or receipts. All the buttons and charging port are easy to get to. The only thing that I see is that I will not be able to use the back facing camera while in the case. I don't really see that as a problem for me because my tablets back facing camera is useless due to horrid picture quality. This is an amazingly styled and top quality product that I would recommend to anyone with a compatible device.
