This book offers many tips and hints on how to make your work neater and correct ways for stitching. It also has color pictures and directions which are easy to follow. Some of the projects offered in this book are needle case (which I'm working on now), bookmark (I plan to make this after the case), sampler, sachet bag, etc. I found this book well worth the money!

If you were afraid to try to cross stitch before, this is the book for you. A wonderful book to get you started. Everything is covered-how to begin-how to end- and what to do in between. The only beginners book you will need.

This book ought to be re-printed! Until then, grab your copy from the "used - like new" market and get another for a friend. I was looking for an instruction book to include with a cross stitch kit for the Children's Christmas Shop at our church when I found Jo Verso's Complete Cross Stitch Course. The Look Inside function on Amazon convinced me that this book has lots of information that would answer questions for anyone who was not familiar with this rewarding hobby. This is a beautiful book full of pretty project photos. Jo Verso uses clear language to write great explanations for everything from the differences in kinds of fabric, floss, and equipment to how to make stitches and read cross stitch patterns. In addition, the explanations are illustrated, which makes them even easier to understand. The projects included in the book are explained from start to finish. They are beautiful, small enough to encourage a beginner, and attractive enough to grab the attention of an experienced stitcher looking for gifts to make. I am back to purchase additional copies, one for myself and one for a friend.
