Pablo Milanes has one of the most amazing male voices, and in this album he really showcases it. The songs on this album are sincere, heartfelt, and really calming. I put in this CD every time I just need to relax.

It was a great success that Pablo Milanes has given melody to a good number of excellent poems of José Martí, great poet and Cuban martyr of ends of last century. Although the poems are already beautiful by themselves, Milanés is able to enlarge the spectrum of admirers of Martí when including those that also like good music. Milanés gives in this way a great tribute to the poetry and the New Trova. It is a pity that he haven't continued with the musicalization of other poems of Martí.

Esta musicalización de los "versos sencillos" de José Martí es simplemente maravillosa, de una comprensión tal que Pablo Milanés canta como si fueran suyos, aunque de hecho ya los son. Es música de una honestidad y pureza sobrecogedoras. A este CD "versos sencillos" yo lo llamaría "versos sinceros". INDISPENSABLE.
