I bought it as I'm weeding my flower bed and wanted to be able to throw the weeds into the bag more easily. When I used a trash can, I could barely pull the bag from the can, so i thought this would be easier to remove the full bag - thought I could just loosen the corners and it would just drop, which was the problem. I tried putting a trash bag inside as suggested and as soon as I had alittle weight in it, the bag fell inside, so not practicle. I also tried clothes pins (4), but again as soon as some weight was in bag, the pins snapped off and the bag fell. I tried the green bag by itself, but it also fell after some weight got in it, plus I then had to dump from the green bag to a trash bag, which defeated the reason why I got it in the 1st place. I finally went back to laying the bag on the ground and stuffing it. Maybe it will work better with dry leaves (not as much weight), but since the leaves have not fell yet, have not got to try it on leaves yet. It is a great idea - just didn't work for what I wanted.

I have no idea why so many reviewers have had such problems using this. I have owned one for about 3 or4 years now and am buying another to use solely out back. My house is a corner lot and surrounded by huge deciduous trees. Every fall the leaves drop and literally cover every surface on our property. I have found that if I use this bag holder and a pair of the Lawn/Leaf Scoops that the job of fall cleanup is much easier. Not to mention much quicker. I can do it alone without having to pull out the leaf blower or my husband. You do need to head for the home store and buy a box of Contractor Grade trash bags though. They are heavy and very tough and worth the extra few bucks. The cheap, every day trash bags won't stand up in this holder and will just puncture and tear when adding waste. Do not use the holder without adding a trash bag.

These are so handy this is the second one I've bought. I wanted to post a video of the newer one, along with some suggestions about how I've made it work better, before it got soiled from use.

In the video I mention a 17" board and anything about that long will work fine. You could even get by with some PVC piping or part of an old broom handle. I also mention BongoTies Bag Of 10 Cable Ties. These are great to have around and you could make due with any heavy duty rubberbands.

Bottom line: This is sturdy, well made, light weight, useful for a number of things, and doesn't take up much space when I'm not using it.

BTW, I feel that honest, effective reviews, accompanied by detailed videos, can take the place of first-hand experiences that are often lacking in online shopping. I've always appreciated the help I've received from other reviewers and try to return the favor as best as I can. I hope you found this review helpful and the video at least entertaining. If there was anything you thought was lacking or unclear leave a comment and I'll do what I can to fix it.

Light, easy to handle for when i need a trash can (party) but don't have room to store it other times. Can be used inside or out. the opening is a bit small for use with leaves, but otherwise have been pleased with the product.

The product is smaller than I was expecting. Also there is not an effective way to use trash bags with this product. Most 'contractor' quality bags are way too large for this little fixture.

I was hoping to lay this on its side and sort of shovel debris right in. Sadly, it does not have anything keeping it open around the top. As another reviewer says, another negative is that normal trash can bags are not long enough to be used as they are about a foot off the ground when inserted, therefore drop down and pull off if you put anything into them.

Why can't you buy a simple plastic square funnel that you slip standard trash bags onto so you can lay them in the yard and just rake debris right into the bags? The plastic "bag opener springs" do not work, either.

The Lawn and Leaf bag is not quite as sturdy as I expected. If you just want to use the bag that comes with, it is great, but if you want to use a trash bag there is nothing to hook the bag onto. It does fold and unfold easily.

I love it!!!! I buy and use the disposal bags. I use it inside for parties. You only have to empty the bag one time. The stand collapses so you do not need to pull the bag out of a trash can. Everyone that sees it wants to know where I bought it so they can buy it.

This is a great product. I use it to hold recyclables in the garage before taking them to the store. Very useful for that and for toys, also.

This product really suits my needs. It is stable and holds a contractor-type bag securely. I filled a large bag with leaves and other debris (this morning), pushed the dry leaves down (several times) with the broom and found this frame to be strong and lightweight. Happy I purchased this from Amazon.
