Book Description

**Updated & Enhanced August 2012**

Vertical Gardening - Bountiful Harvest in Small Places was written by Don Evans, an avid gardener who enjoys things a little "different" in his garden. It's concise and simple, with detailed plans and clear instructions on vertical garden design, (a form of container planting), that can be built from everyday materials found in any backyard and local hardware shop - materials that certainly won't break the bank.

Inside you'll find...

The Idea Behind Vertical Gardening

Whether it's a focal point in an existing garden landscaping layout, or as a means to enjoy gardening in tight spaces.
  • Buying a Vertical Tower - the things to look for, and the additional items you may need.

  • How to build a Flower Tower - An inexpensive, easy to maintain and colorful garden tower that will surely be the focal point in your garden, & the envy of all your visitors.

  • How to build a Strawberry Tower - Enjoy unlimited fresh Strawberry's, and enough for the entire family, all from the harvest of just one of these beauty's.

  • How to build a Fresh Herb Tower - Imagine enjoying the freshest of fresh herbs right from out your back door. No more dried herbs for you, after all nothing beats fresh!

  • How to Build a Vegetable Tower - Yes, you can grow vegetables vertically, but of course you have to pick your species. (Plan on buying your sweet corn from the market still - some plants of course aren't meant to be grown in a tower!)

  • Building a Potato Tower - Turn a handful of seed potatoes into 20 lbs of fresh potatoes in an area of no more than two square feet!
Vertical Gardening - Bountiful Harvest in Small Places is great for all gardeners who are looking for ideas to brighten up an existing garden, maybe create awesome Flower Tower sentinels to grace a deck, or for those looking for some fresh herbs perhaps, but have limited space. The ultimate in container gardens. The possibilities are endless.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Inexpensive Gardening Guide June 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I've been wanting to set up a herb tower for a while now, and haven't been able to find the right instructions for it online, and I didn't want to buy an expensive book because I just wanted specific information, so I decided to give this book a shot. And I'm so glad I did.

It gave me some ideas on size, pots, soil etc, plus the best herbs to put in my tower.

It's short (which is probably why it's cheap), but I just wanted the info on herb towers, so it was just right for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Grow fresh food, even in small spaces June 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Ha- who knew you could create a potato garden vertically?! It was news to me and I have to try it. I spent last season bent over small potato buckets. LOL!

This is a great book for getting oriented and learning new techniques of vertical farming. I was glad to see the photos, because they give a real idea of what your finished product might look like.

Considering the increasing price of food these days, growing at home really makes sense.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Guide for Vertical Gardening June 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Like one of the other reviewers on here, I had never heard of vertical gardening until recently. I actually discovered it though a commercial for one of the big box home improvement stores. After a bit of searching for information on the topic I came across this book.

It is exactly what I needed to get me going in the right direction. Vertical gardening isn't especially difficult, but there are some things this book taught me that I wouldn't have figured out on my own. Now I just need to make a trip to the store and give my first vertical garden a go.

More About the Author

Don Evans, a transplanted New Zealander who's lived in Canada for more years than he cares to remember has a number of passions, but a couple that stand out are his love for getting his hands dirty in his garden, and a penchant for telling others of his gardening experiences and discoveries, most recently as a respected Kindle author.

In fact the first publication in a planned series (Gardening with Don) - "Vertical Gardening - Bountiful Results in Small Places" hit the best seller list on Amazon within days of publication.

Look for short, informative books on Gardening topics such as Vertical Gardening, Community Gardening, Sanctuary Gardening, Gardening with the Grandkids and more.
