5.0 out of 5 stars Great inspiration
I'm a member of the Green Roof Association of Australia and I also worked in Patrick Blanc team here in Melbourne.
I saw this book yesterday for the first time at the annual meeting of the association. I found it very inspiring as it travels through time to show where the ideas of the vertical gardens come from and were the modern ones are heading to.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing content
The cover is great. Other than that there is almost nothing worthwhile in this book. It does not help me to create vertical gardens, and even the photos are very uneven, and not always about vertical gardens (unless you consider planting twining plants on trellis to be a vertical garden)

Before reading this book I wasn't sure if it was worth buying it or not but now I'm sure that is one of the books I wish to have in my library.
It has many wonderful pictures and very interesting case studies and examples.
It is not a technical manual and it doesn't want to be it but it is a wonderful reference to the amazing world of vertical gardens and a diplay of what is around so far.
If someone wish to build his vertical garden has to first do a in-dept research on materials and study about plants so it is silly that people expect to find books readily made for them so that they don't have to research themselves. For me the best way to learn how to do someting is experimenting yourself and this book give you a lot of ideas about the direction you should be heading to.
