Most of the multi-monitor stands are more expensive, and I was wondering what I would have to sacrifice if I bought this model for $79.90 + shipping. I called the retailer, [...] and talked to one of their staff.

She was quite knowledgeable, assured me that it's a solid, high-quality piece of equipment, and informed me that there is another mounting option: instead of the weighted base, you can also secure the vertical pole through a drill hole in the desktop, using included hardware. As it turns out, I don't need that option, but it's good to know.

I unpacked and set up the monitor stand yesterday. I had it set up in 5 minutes, and had my monitors mounted to it in another 10 minutes. Very easy! The adjustable holders are easy to work with, the stand overall is very heavy and stable, and the result is visually impressive. For a dual-monitor setup with today's wide-screen LCDs, I think vertical mounting, rather than side-by-side, is really the way to go.

One caveat: The range of positioning is limited as compared to other stands that have articulating arm mounts for each of the monitors. So, for example, you can't position the two monitors at different depths. Basically, the adjustments are tilt, swivel and rotation. Look at the photos and do the math. This limitation is easily apparent from looking at the description and photos, and the product is still a great bargain, so I'm not knocking a star off for that. But it would be nice if the company sold an optional holder with an articulating arm.

My concern was this being flimsy. I could take this to the next riot. It says the weight limit is 13 lb each monitor. That must have to do with the clamp or destroying what it is clamped to. That is NOT going to damage the vertical bar or mounting clamp. 50 lb is not going to damage the bar and I would confidently test 100 lb.

So now I have a 24" over a 22" with a KVM switch going through my other machines. It is still a complicated mess but it sure impresses the natives.

BTW: The 24" is a TV. Watch for sales. They are much more versatile than monitors and getting to the fair price of just a few bucks more than plain monitors.

Works wonderfully. I have two 20" monitors attached.
Here's what you need to know: if you have 70mm attachment points, this might take a bit more work. Many monitors have insets for where the stand connects. Since this stand is designed for both 70 and 120 points, it means there will be a gap between the inset on the monitor and the backplate on this stand. The included screws will not be long enough in this case (I'm sure they work fine if you have a 120 monitor or if your monitor doesn't have an inset). I had to buy longer screws at a hardware store. Additionally, I got the unlucky package that only had one bolt instead of two so I had to purchase that as well.
The good news is after a quick email to the seller, they credited me for the extra parts I had to purchase. Excellent customer service!

You really have to crank everything down on this to keep the monitors from obeying gravity, so if you're in a situation where you constantly make adjustments to or pivot your monitors, you may want to invest in something more heavy duty. For me, for the price, this works dandy.

This is very well made. I have it holding two 23" monitors on my desk. It was exactly what I was looking for.

I already had the horizontal dual monitor stand, but wanted to add a monitor above the two already mounted. I saw that the manufacturer, Tyke Supply, offered a 28" pole, but didn't offer the monitor mounting hardware that slide over the pole. I contacted them and they said they don't sell those parts separately. So, I ordered this vertical dual stand (which comes with a 27" pole), put the dual horizontal arms on the lower part of the pole and one of the single mounts that came with this stand near the top. It works great. I've got two 24" monitors on the bottom and a 22" mounted above them. It could also handle a 24" monitor on the top, but the lower ones would need to be closer to the desktop.

I now have a single monitor stand comprised of the pole from the original dual horizontal stand and the remaining single mount from the vertical stand.

Both of these stands are sturdy, well made, and well finished.Tyke should think about selling a "pyramid" style triple monitor stand. I don't know if one can add photos to a review, and if you can, I don't know how. Sorry.

I bought 10 of these for a packing line in our warehouse. The first sample was bought in Dec 2013 and the remaining units in late Jan 2014. The initial unit differed from that other 9 units in that the convenient hand levers for clamping the 2 monitor brackets to the post - are gone. You must now use the provided 5mm allen wrench to move or reposition the brackets. There are some other slight packaging and hardware changes but trivial. These things remain rock solid. We have a 17" LCD and an industrial scale indicator mounted on each unit and things are very secure. Only other issue is the difficulty in tightening the vertical bolt used to control lateral (side to side) pivot. Really have to crank on it to snug it up. Otherwise you can position and lock things as you need them. Would buy again.
