This book makes you feel like you were actually there, witnessing and experiencing the way these guys operated. Climbing has definitely evolved and this book does an outstanding job of showing how and why. I love the photos that go along with the stories. After reading each chapter, the pictures "tell a thousand words". The bravery and hardships these guys went through is truly humbling.After having read this book cover to cover in the first week, I would pay $50+ without hesitation for this book. If you have an interest in Yosemite climbing, it's a required read. Nobody will ever complain about their portaledge again after reading this book!

Amazing history of Yosemite Climbing,

This is hands down my favorite Yosemite Climbing History book. It has detailed accounts of many of the first and classic ascents in Yosemite. It includes photos of many of those historical ascents as well.
I would definitely recommend this book if you can find it for a decent price.
