Biography

La Ley (Spanish for "The Law") was a Grammy Award and two-time Latin Grammy Award-winning Chilean pop rock band formed by Andrés Bobe and Rodrigo Aboitiz with Mauricio Claveria, Beto Cuevas and Luciano Rojas. After a failed first album, Desiertos (1989), they released Doble Opuesto (1990), which appears as the official first album of the band. Singles like "Desiertos," "Tejedores de Ilusión," and… Read more in Amazon's La Ley Store

5.0 out of 5 stars This album is La Ley's "hidden treasure"!, June 9, 2004

La Ley has had a long career and has various albums released, but there is one that didn't get the recognition or fame that it deserved. This is that CD. Vertigo is La Ley's darker, more in-touch with life piece of work. In my opinion, this album is Invisible's creative equal but has an opposite way of being expressed. Once again, as always with this band, the lyrics are outstanding and the music and rythms to each and every song make you want to listen to it all the way through many times. If you are a fan of modern La Ley you have to listen to this CD with an open mind and look for the characteristics that never left the band. La Ley is all about change but the basic elements that define them always remain.

"Vertigo" el titulo del cd lo dice. Que mas quieres? Este es el mejor cd que he comprado. Yo vi a La Ley en concierto 12/16/99 y estuvo tan padre que yo creeo que nunca se me va a olvidar cantaron todos sus existos y toda la gente estava disfrutando de sus musica. Este cd es uno de los mejores que existe en el rock en espanol.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vertigo, dizzing great music, January 18, 2005

Although not the most important album for La Ley, they achieved a demi "White Album" status with this. For some reason this album didn't sell as much as Invicible, which is a little darker than this, probably because it doesn't have that instant hit sound, but this does sound much happier...

On Vertigo i guess the focus was more on production and music than it was on lyrics.

From opener slasher Fotophobia, to the intense Vi, and the sublime Ciclos, this has something for everyone.

Call me crazy, but to me, this is like a tame version of Nine Inch Nail's "The Downward Spiral". Shyguy is even reminiscent of "Big man with a gun". But that's besides the point.

There's no way i can describe this. Give your ears a treat, get this record NOW!!!
