This album is La Ley's "hidden treasure"!,

La Ley has had a long career and has various albums released, but there is one that didn't get the recognition or fame that it deserved. This is that CD. Vertigo is La Ley's darker, more in-touch with life piece of work. In my opinion, this album is Invisible's creative equal but has an opposite way of being expressed. Once again, as always with this band, the lyrics are outstanding and the music and rythms to each and every song make you want to listen to it all the way through many times. If you are a fan of modern La Ley you have to listen to this CD with an open mind and look for the characteristics that never left the band. La Ley is all about change but the basic elements that define them always remain.

"Vertigo" el titulo del cd lo dice. Que mas quieres? Este es el mejor cd que he comprado. Yo vi a La Ley en concierto 12/16/99 y estuvo tan padre que yo creeo que nunca se me va a olvidar cantaron todos sus existos y toda la gente estava disfrutando de sus musica. Este cd es uno de los mejores que existe en el rock en espanol.

Vertigo, dizzing great music,

Although not the most important album for La Ley, they achieved a demi "White Album" status with this. For some reason this album didn't sell as much as Invicible, which is a little darker than this, probably because it doesn't have that instant hit sound, but this does sound much happier...
On Vertigo i guess the focus was more on production and music than it was on lyrics. From opener slasher Fotophobia, to the intense Vi, and the sublime Ciclos, this has something for everyone. Call me crazy, but to me, this is like a tame version of Nine Inch Nail's "The Downward Spiral". Shyguy is even reminiscent of "Big man with a gun". But that's besides the point. There's no way i can describe this. Give your ears a treat, get this record NOW!!!

The Best Cd,
By Beto (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Vertigo (Audio CD)
First off I would like to start off by saying that I have known La Ley since 2002 when I saw the video for Mentira on MTV Espanol. I fell In love with that song and got their MTV Unplugged cd because it was a new song.
The Review: This is the 4th cd from La Ley that I have gotten and I think that this is their best cd. I used to have Uno but that one got badly scratched that I had to put it in the trash. And that was a fanstic cd but compared to Libertad and Invisible and Uno I think this is the best cd they have done. Its not a new cd. Its old. 1998. But I love La ley so much that I would like to own all their cds if possible. One of the best songs on Vertigo is Ciclos. Another is Sed. But I think the whole cd is out of sight and dynamite. If you are a big fan of La Ley you should have this cd in your collection.

Darker, and more poetic than ever, La Ley hits hard.,

Dissapoiting for some, Vertigo is a misunderstood album. "Fotofobia", the first single is a masterpiece that has some electronic clash with the use of the electric guitars, but it still delivers its message accross. "Ciclos" is undoubtfully the best song in this album, and in my opinion one of the best songs La Ley has ever made. It explains the cycle us humans live and evolve through in this world, and the small insignificance a life means if it is wasted. Songs like "Tanta Ciudad" and "Guerrillero" are exceptionally written and composed. The mix of electronics may unattract you at first, but after listening to it 3 or 4 times, the songs become better and better. Another great album provided by latin rock's best band, but not the first album you want to buy from La Ley.

Tramsparente opacidad,

Vertigo: Excellent,

In their latest release, La Ley has once again combined great music with great lyrics. This CD differs from the others in that the sound is much more electronic, mixed with more synthesizers. If your are a La Ley lover, you will not be dissapointed. I recommend Guerrillero because they write about the political status in their native Chile and the hardships their people have suffered due to Augusto Pinochet. Another great track is Tanta Ciudad. Fotophobia is very futuristic. I met Beto Cuevas at the Banda Elastica's 6th Anniversary and the message he tries to convey is that music should be listened to and loved no matter what language it is in. Peace.
