5.0 out of 5 stars Former Toto Singer Masterpiece!!!, December 14, 2005
This review is from: Feat: Joseph Williams (Audio CD)
Former Toto singer (Joseph Williams)who sang on the albums Fahrenheit & The Seventh One sings on this CD. Williams was the singing voice of Simba on the Disney's Lion King movie as well as the soundtrack. His father is the legend John Williams (Star Wars, Jaws, Jurassic Park, etc..). But Joseph Williams is a very talented singer & it shows on this album. You will instantly recognize the smash hit "I Don't Want To Go" - the chorus is I don't want to go somewhere, if I know that you're not there, cause I could never live without you etc.., other standouts are Straight To Your Heart, Sarah, China Sky & Love Is Blind. Do not miss out on this one of a kind cd.

4.0 out of 5 stars Glad this saw the light of day, November 27, 2003
This review is from: Vertigo (Audio CD)
Joseph Williams, son of legendary composer John Williams, has re-entered the world of melodic rock after pursuing his career in writing jingles for commercials, etc. He's released three solo albums of varying quality, but his true fame comes from serving as Toto's vocalist for two albums, the decent "Farenheit," and the superb, "Seventh One." Fans of that album, in particular, have always hoped for a worthy follow-up. Vertigo, in some ways, comes close. While the songwriting isn't quite up to that standard, the production is first-rate and there are some wonderful songs here. "Not Enough Hours in the Night," "Straight to Your Heart," and "Never Let You Go," reach the pinnacle of melodic excellence, all sung with the trademark vocals of Williams. It's a little disappointing that Williams didn't even co-write any of the material, but that can be forgiven since the songwriting is above average. Recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Semi-Great Pop CD, November 11, 2003

This review is from: Vertigo (Audio CD)
I am writing this while I listen to the "Vertigo" CD for the second time. It is a pretty damn good disc. I especially like the guitar work on "Never Let You Go", "Wanted To Be Wanted" and " Love Is Blind"
I think if got some air play it would sell as it is a little more adult orientated as opposed to all the bubble gum pop that is out now.
I think that with a little bit of promotion this CD could be a hit on the adult contemporary charts as the lyrics and vocal are very good not to mention the guitar playing of Alex De Rosso on lead. To bad it is not on a larger label.
