This album is rad! I recently purchased it and have been listenting to it like theres no tomorrow. I had previously got "Songs of Praise", which is also great, but this is a definite buy for all Adicts fan. It has all the clasics!

This album just makes you laugh all the way through. It's like every song will get a smile out of you: A song like "Joker in the Pack" starts out with a carosel's mechanical organ and then turns into glorious guitar riffs.
When you play it for your buddies for the first time they all look at one-another like "what is THIS?". Then the guitar starts and it's all a real hoot. Everyone who's ever been dumped by a girlfriend needs this album. My buddy was in tears over his loss. Then I repeated some of the lyrics from "How Sad", and it helped him get over it. A boy loved a girl but the girl said "no" She ran away with a handsome gigilo He loved her but they were through So he fed himself to the lions at the zoo Love is a thing you can't control When you're young or when you're old I don't play the sympathetic part So you can keep your broken heart Just about every song will give you something to chuckle over. Even my children love the lyrics to "Bad Boy". I love the way he never says what he did bad. With the Adicts you get the whole rock and roll package: great visual artistry, catchy tunes and lyrics that give you something to chew on for a long time to come. I wish I could give these guys 10 stars!

a great start, but missing some essentials,

The Adicts are without a doubt the single thing that pushed me into punk. Their raw, yet incredibly complicated instrumentals, coupled with Monkey's excellent UK punk vocals, and some of the best lyrics the punk scene has ever expierienced, make the Adicts a beacon of hope for punks everywhere. Originally starting in Ipswich, The Adicts formed in the late 70s, and then really built up their fanbase starting in the early 80s. The Adicts, to this day, still have all of their ariginal members, although they have added a few new members, the Adicts are one of the longest running punk bands with all original members.
As for the CD, its a great place to start, but it is missing some great hits that anyone just getting into the Adicts shouldn't miss. It's missing walk on, and who split my beer, not to mention it contains very few selections from the 80s CD, Fifth Overture, the CD that truly shows how much the Adicts have changed over the years. Despite these missing songs, i would recommend anyone who has never herd the Adicts to start with this CD, it showcases all the different and excellent sounds this band has to offer, except for Fifth Overture (if you like the 80s synthesizer sound, check out Fifth Overture next). If you ever have a chance to see these guys live, take it, theyre one of the best live punk bands i've ever heard. GET ADICTED!!!!
