A Great Easy Cheap Way To Go But Uncomplete,
This review is from: Very Best Of Alien Sex Fiend (Audio CD)
This is the only Alien Sex Fiend album I'd own and pay for. Many fans of the band obviosly know allmost every album of theirs is out of print even the remastered versions. I swear most alternative goes out of print as fast as it comes in print again. This is a great means of having a good collection of many of their best songs and hilights as well as a good introduction to the band and their evolving sounds. From the early punk sound of the first track Ignore the Machine to the more techno dancy sound of the last track Evolution. Fans of punk, Goth, Techno, and Heavy metal will find at least one track on here they like cuz being a hit collection, it's very diverse and this band went through many changes line up and sound wise. This is a good reasonable way of having many of the bands greatest songs but not all of them. Ignore the Machine is a excellent catchy punk way to start but I would of started with "I Wizh I Waz A Dawg" From that same album and left out the annoying repetitive rockabilly fueled single version of new christian music. R.I.P. (Blue Crumb Truck) is a awsome Goth fueled song based on animal testing. E.S.T. Trip to the Moon and Doing Time in A Maximum Sercurity Twilight Home remind me of new wave alternative their softer and less punk unlike the raw violent Smells Like which is remastered beautifully in all it's distorted punk glory THANK YOU CHERRY RED. Tracks like now im feeling zombified and stuff the turkey should have fans of "I like to have fun" Goths satisfied. I Don't care for zombified but Stuff the turkey has excellent keyboards and is kind of epic despite the humour fed lyrics which consist of santa on drugs and staying drunk from January to December. I wonder why wizh I Waz A Dawg wasn't on here It would of fit and still had room on the 80 minute disc so why they left it out is beyond me. "I Think I" from curse is awsome too. The cover art is classic and I agree with the review on it saying it's like Alice Cooper meets the Sex Pistols I allways thought the same thing before I read that review. Don't expect Christian Death or Marylyn Manson sounding stuff on here. I rate it four stars for songs like the awsome punk filled Dead and buried with classic lyrics like milk is taken from the cow. But don't give it a 5 cuz the cd is worth buying but not perfect. Missing too many songs and has a few really awfull songs. Worth Buying but aint perfect
