The concept developed into a real band and the duo released a double-platinum album Briefcase Full Of Blues in 1978. By 1980, the star-strewn Blues Brothers film appeared, and became a firm favourite.

This review is from: Very Best of (Audio CD)
Listening to this album makes me feel as though I was born a few years late!!!! I grew up watching this movie over and over so buying the album was very natural for me. I already knew and loved almost all the tracks on the album. These two guys introduced me to a whole bunch of music that I had not been introduced to at the time.( I was like 8!!!!!!) They opened up my mind to music and helped me to understand that it doesn't matter what Genre you fall into. Its all about communicating the emotion of the song, and although these two were not music gods, they did get the emotion across. Of course it helps to have a whos who of a band playing with you and a bunch of the greats on the album too. Not only do you get to hear Dan and John playing this stuff as the blues brothers, but you get some of the greatest blues guys too! One of my favorites on this album is "guilty", I wonder just what he (john) may have accomplished if he hadn't left us so soon. The blues live on in this generation largely because of this group!!!!!! YOU WILL BE MISSED FOREVER JOHN!
