This review is from: Very Best of the Blues Years (Audio CD)
This hour long CD has ?early Canned Heat playing traditional Blues in a very raw style. Definitely not highly polished but yet demonstrates their true passion for their Blues idols, such as BB King, Elmore James version of Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, and Skip James. The inclusion of I'd Rather Be the Devil puts this particular CD above the other CDs with similar tracks. Bob Hite even does a brief impression of Skip James during that song. This CD's Rollin' and Tumblin' is not the best version they did, but it is still memorable with the highly underrated Alan Wilson's harp carrying it along. Overall, if you like Canned Heat and Blues, then this CD is an obvious choice to acquire.
