4.0 out of 5 stars Music to boost your mood!, October 7, 2002

It was wonderful to discover two terrific songs on this CD that were lingering at the fringes of my memories from 1970: "Hey, Mister Sun" and "La La La." Both songs are wonderfully positive with a great sound, and alone make the CD worthwhile. Of course there are also the bigger hits here like "Little Woman" and "Julie, Do Ya Love Me?," and those are essential to any Bobby Sherman collection, but they were awfully overplayed. At least now I know what the young girls understood long ago: this guy could put out some darned good songs. A nice touch is that the year of release and chart position is listed along with each song on this CD.

I just found this compilation and it's great. All of Bobby's hits and a few should-have-been hits wrapped up in a nicely packaged CD. Lots of interesting tidbits about Bobby's music career and his life before and after his stardom. This is a good one!

4.0 out of 5 stars Don't care if it's "bubble gum" pop -- it's fun music, June 27, 2008
This review is from: Very Best of (Audio CD)
Bobby Sherman had a great voice, and was perfect for the '60s/'70s era. While listening to this you truly are transported back in time. And I love his "little known music" which never was played along with his big hits. Speaking of which, "Easy Come, Easy Go" is really a good song! And frankly, can anyone honestly say they've never sung along to "Julie, Do You Love Me?"?!!

Bobby had what it took, singing and acting. I wish he'd stayed with it. But I'm sure there are many grateful people who are happy he became an EMT.

5.0 out of 5 stars The very best greatest hits collection from Mr. Robert Cabot Sherman, Jr., July 26, 2006
This review is from: Very Best of (Audio CD)
This is the best of collection out there for Bobby Sherman, one of the best practioners of bubble gum music on the planet. This album has 18 wonderful tracks which include many of Bobby's most famous songs (Seattle, La La La (If I Had You), Julie, Do Ya Love Me?). Most of which are included on other "very best of" collections (in fact, there's another CD called The Very Best of Bobby Sherman, but that CD/album has only 12 tracks), but there are many hidden gems here.

The single Sounds Along the Way is included, a really quiet song that builds to a really powerful ending, the lovely ballad Jennifer, two songs from Bobby's underrated 1972 Just for You album (Together Again and the ethereal (She Lets Her Hair Down) Early in the Morning, which he arranged and co-produced), the adorable Bubble Gum and Braces (which Bobby co-wrote), the fantastic Waitin' at the Bus Stop (which Bobby co-wrote and arranged), and one of the best Christmas songs I've ever heard, Goin' Home (Sing a Song of Christmas Cheer). Goin' Home was included on some vinyl pressings of Bobby's Christmas Album, but not on the CD reissue. But it's here in all its wonderful glory. The (almost) free jazz break at the end of Goin' Home (the trumpter goes pretty crazy for a bubble gum record) is really inspired.

As Rolling Stone once put it, Bobby is a "teenybopper with talent". He wrote several songs, arranged songs, co-produced some of his albums, played 16 instruments, and could sing wonderfully. He was also consistently in the top 10 during the late 1960's. He is now a paramedic in California, saving lives. He does occasion nostalghia tours, and he's still got it. I love the man's music very much.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXPLICIT!?!?!?!, November 2, 2011

Oh come on Amazon!!! Are you out of your cotton pickin' minds!!!
Change it!! Bobby Sherman from the 60's explicit? You got it so far off base.
He was Bubblegum POP back then. Take off the ridiculous Expicit from his songs
right now or I will try my hardest to contact Bobby Sherman himself and let him
know what Amazon.com did to his Bubblegum Pop album!! The nerve!

I re-lived my teen years again and loved every minute of it. Bobby Sherman was always one of my favorite teen idols and when listening to this CD I remembered why. He had such a good voice and was good to look at too. I recently purchased the first season of Here Come The Brides and it is funny to see these things from a more mature perspective. As for this CD, I played it in the car on a extended road trip and had a good time and couldn't believe that I remembered most of the words. I guess if you play certain songs over and over for hours on end when you are about twelve years old, it sticks with you. If you were a fan before, I am sure that you will still enjoy this CD.

I'd been looking for Bobby Sherman 'albums' on CD for a long time, as well as some of my favorite music that I'd listen to and practically wore out when I was younger. I was tickled pink to find this one, and I plan to get others. I LOVE this CD! If you are looking for those songs that used to make you feel good then...this will do it for you again now.

I bought this item as a gift for my sister. She had such a crush on Bobby Sherman when she was a kid. I saw this and just couldn't pass up the opportunity to remind her of her teenage years. This particular album brought back memories. The "Seattle" Song has strong memories for both of us, as our favorite show at the time was, "Here come the Brides" and that song was the theme. I know that she enjoyed the music and nostalgia immensely.
