Somewhat obsure, Shep and the Limelites are the BEST, December 24, 2005

James "Shane" "Shep" Sheppard is one of the greatest song writers and performers of the Doo Wop era. His music is as alive and memorable today as it was 45 years ago. His life would be the source of a great movie about getting into "the business". This album is a collection of his greatest works, and there is not a "clinker" in the mix. This is, I believe, the best value album I have seen. Long live Doo Wop.

Shep and The Limelites/Heartbeats/Videos Connection, July 20, 2008

Ironically, the Five Heartbeats movie was written and produced without anyone involved knowing that The Heartbeats' "A Thousand Miles Away," the Shep and The Limelites' model, also starring Shep Sheppard, already existed. The other guys were also the Videos of "Trickle, Trickle" and "Moonlight Your Know" fame.
You were more right than you ever knew (above).
