4.0 out of 5 stars A sample of Mercury's solo work
A very good compilation album featuring a selection of the best of Freddie Mercury's solo work.
Mercury came out with a fair amount of solo work during the 1980's.
What results here is a must for fans of Mercury , and a good example of some of his musical genius.
My personal favouries here include:

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad
It amazes me that they even tried to release a GH for Freddie. He only released two albums and a handful of singles. However, it's a pretty good collection for Freddie fans, but it is marred by too many remixes. I would suggest the following tracks:

I Can Hear Music

Goin' Back

Made in Heaven (I prefer the version done with Queen)...

I Can Hear Music

Goin' Back

Made in Heaven (I prefer the version done with Queen)

I Was Born to Love You (same as above)

Foolin' Around (Original version)

Your Kind of Lover

Mr. Bad Guy (the version from "The Great Pretender")

There Must Be More to Life Than This

Living on my Own (ORIGINAL version)

Love Me Like There's No Tomorrow

Barcelona

Guide Me Home

How Can I Go On

Excercises in Free Love

New York (demo)

The Great Pretender (the guitar version from "The Great Pretender")

Time ("The Great Pretender" version)

In My Defence

Guide Me Home (performed by Thierry Lang)

That's just my opinion, though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Gift!, January 11, 2007
Bought this for my Fiance as a gift. BIG QUEEN and Freddie Mercury fan so this was a sure hit...he said there are a few songs that are the same and remixed, but overall the album is played 24/7 at my house. Great buy for the Queen and Freddie Mercury fan in your life. Also could not find this album at all not even Best Buy! Great price too!

I have many of the Queen and Mercury solo albums, but I never heard of this one. It is one of the best solo albums for Mercury!

This review is from: Very Best of (Audio CD)
This is a very well put together collection of solo Mercury moments, one after another, you can TOTALLY tell he musta LOVED these songs, lively, lovely lad singing songs and happy even for a little while, we all love Freddie, don't we? this is one funass cd. It seems like his true fame's just beginning, so much life he continues to give through endearing trax like the ones here.
