5.0 out of 5 stars Puts Credence Clearwater and Eric Clapton to shame..AWSOME
There are two new tracks on this disc seem to have been recorded for the cover to cover album but for some reason were left off. Jeff is the best guitarist I have ever witnessed.I have been able to catch the band live about 5 times now and they get better each time. This disc is a prime example of the bands wide range of talents from Eric Claptons Badge to Credence...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best
Jeff Healey can be brilliant and has produced some magic tracks. Unfortunately there are not many on this CD. His best album in my opinion is 'See the Light' of which only 'Confidence Man' and 'See the Light' appear here. Any best of should include 'Roadhouse Blues', 'Blue Jean Blues', 'Highway 49', 'As the Years Go Passing By', 'Holding on', 'I Think I Love You Too Much'...

You may believe that there are better guitarists however can any one of them close thier eyes and play the guitar laying in thier laps? I have yet to see any of them.

Jeff Healey can be brilliant and has produced some magic tracks. Unfortunately there are not many on this CD. His best album in my opinion is 'See the Light' of which only 'Confidence Man' and 'See the Light' appear here. Any best of should include 'Roadhouse Blues', 'Blue Jean Blues', 'Highway 49', 'As the Years Go Passing By', 'Holding on', 'I Think I Love You Too Much' for starters. There is a definite gap in recording/production quality of some of the tracks on this album which creates a negative feeling. Jeff can tend towards the flashy which definitely spoilt the concert I saw of him some years back, but when he plays with reserve and true blues feeling, he is worth every dollar. On this album the gap between styles is also too great. 'It could all get blown away' highlights the best, 'Shapes of things' the worst.

I recommend this best of The Jeff Healey band over any of the other best of collections available. I have heard a few of his previous releases ie Hell To Pay etc and never got to getting any of them but why talk! Get this one, Their killer version Of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" with George Harrison as a guest artist is worth it alone.Check my site out "Judemac Forever" & search msn, Google or Yahoo.

4.0 out of 5 stars I don't know if its the best, but its very good!, March 26, 2008

This is my first Jeff Healey CD, so I can't say if its really "the best" of JH, but it's all good. I think covers of Badge, Yer Blues, and especailly While my Guitar Gently Weeps are excellent. The other covers and original works are very good. I play a little guitar and can appreciate his style. I guess I'll have to buy some other albums to see if other reviewers are right about others being better. But don't hesitate to buy this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good intro, October 30, 2011
This review is from: The Very Best of The Jeff Healey Band (Audio CD)
I'm a big Healey fan, He's without doubt of the greatest to ever pick up the guitar, forget the fact he's been blind since age 2,Jeff Healey is second to none. This best of cd i picked up just to have something of his on cd because I already all his albums.but on vinyl. This cd is a great intro for the new healey fans looking to get a taste of the master it sports alot of great album cuts and some good covers. The reason I took of a star was because this "best of" doesn't include Healeys signature song "angel eyes" for some reason was is unforgiveable, its also missing some other signature songs like the mark knopfler track " I think i love you too much" and tracks from the Roadhouse soundtrack. Make no mistake This is good healey, but it is in no way definitive.

I'd reccomend purchasing Jeff Healeys first two albums which wont dig deep in your wallet "See The Light" and "Hell To Pay" those combined contain his best hits and give you a good sampler of his work, But either way this artist deserves a place in your music library.

5.0 out of 5 stars Angel Eyes, September 23, 2003
This review is from: The Very Best of The Jeff Healey Band (Audio CD)
Its worth the buy, but why wasnt "Angel Eyes" on this best of collection? That was his only song he was known for the sad main stream fans that wouldnt know a good song if it bit them on the butt. What I am trying to say is they should have lots of famous Healey tracks all over the radio. They are not playing any of his stuff down in my neck of the woods~Thank God for Cds. He is a very great talent to music.~caw~

2.0 out of 5 stars NO WAY, PAL !!!, October 10, 2000
This review is from: The Very Best of The Jeff Healey Band (Audio CD)
No way on Earth this is the "very best of Jeff Healey" !!! The album " HELL TO PAY" alone is much better than this one. Some songs are great, but the majority are boring and dry blues. Irc !

2.0 out of 5 stars |GALLAGHER IS BETTER, November 16, 2000
This review is from: The Very Best of The Jeff Healey Band (Audio CD)
Jeff HEaley tries to sound as blues / rock genius and he is really a rare gifted guitar player and singer. But the tunes in this selection makes no justice at all at his talents. The result sounds more like a minor-league version of Irish master Rory Gallagher.
