From the Artist
For the last year, weve been re-mastering my solo catalog from the original tapes and Ive been listening to 4 decades of my work and trying to decide which of the songs I should bring to you in this collection. As I listen, pictures come into my mind, of recording sessions, of concerts, of audiences, and all the musicians whove played with me over the years and all the engineers who helped us get the music down on tape.
There were many times in recording studios when I felt it was impossible to get the right feel, the right atmosphere, the right sound for a song to come to life. And then other times we were swept up in the magic in the headphones and felt we could do no wrong.
I cant tell you how grateful I am that music is my lifes work and its been gratifying for me to look back and see that I can be proud of every recording I have made so far.
We have tried our best to make this an interesting listening experience for you. Hope you love it and be sure that there is more music to come. - Jesse Colin Young, Kona 2005
