Book is full of fun but much larger than expected about the size of a phone book and therefore difficult to carry around.

You get 500 pages worth of Jumble, but these puzzles weren't written by the guys who supply the ones that show up in the paper everyday. These guys are named Hoyt, as opposed to Arnold, etc.

The format is different, and it lacks a personal touch. It feels like a Jumble textbook. Instead of a picture, some scrambled words, and a punny solution, you get a theme, like plants, and words to unscramble. The mystery answer is also still there, in addition to fun facts and clues, which I didn't especially appreciate. What's the fun in unscrambling if you get a boost? I always saw Jumble as an independent game.

There's also other Jumble formats, like crosswords, wordsearch, etc.

But be warned. This isn't the usual stuff. It's a Jumble trail mix that doesn't taste quite the same.

If you like unscrambling words in general, you'll love this book. It will last a long time and provide hours of satisfaction. It's thick, and the font is pretty big, making it (literally) easy on the eyes. Plus, on average, this book fits more scrambled words on each page than the classic Jumble. In a way, you are getting more for your money.

But if you're looking for the classic Jumble by Henri Arnold et al., which I was, this isn't it.

I bought this for my Mother in law who is 84 and she just loved it!

My mother is homebound and I wanted to get her something that would keep her mind active. She always loved the Jumbles in the newspaper but I couldn't find a bok of them in any local stores. I had a choice of several onAmazon.
