4.0 out of 5 stars Truly the Very Best of this very underrated pop-soul group!
Well, it sure is pretty cool that I'm the first one to be able to review this cool collection. However, it just goes to prove that Londonbeat just hasn't received much attention in this country since "I've Been Thinking About You" was a number 2 hit in 1990, which was number 1 already in most European countries. Anyway, their first single "9 A.M. (The...

2.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointing... Even when the performers are great singers/musicians!
This CD is only for serious British Pop/Rock/Funk collectors... You know, the Brits always add their own 'spice' to this kind of music.

The only superhit included here 'I've Been Thinkin' About You', is the easiest to recognize (and listen) 'Hit' in this album... The rest of songs fall from C- to E... or so. However the sound quality is very good...

(The Comfort Zone)" I don't like at all, but their next one, "Failing in Love Again", is the first track on this album and begins it rather well. Next came "Thinking" which I remember seeing the video to, "A Better Love" in 1991, "You Bring On The Sun" in 1992, but then I didn't hear from them again 'til '95, with their catchy tune "Come Back". My other favorites on this CD are "I'm Just Your Puppet On A...(String)", "She Broke My Heart In 36 Places", "It's In The Blood', "All Born Equal" and "Step Inside My Shoes". So, now, I had learned from this album's back cover and liner notes that Londonbeat had seven hit singles in the U.K., while being almost ignored in the U.S. That sure is a shame. However, I recommend this collection highly, it's decent quality funky R&B-Soul music!

Most listeners know Londonbeat from their international smash "I've Been Thinking About You." However, there are lesser-known gems in this greatest-hits package, such as "A Better Love," "Step Inside My Shoes" and a standout version of Bob Marley's "No Woman No Cry." Underrated British soul from a memorable group.
