4.0 out of 5 stars Best Kept Secret In America, March 6, 2003

This review is from: Very Best of Mike Batt (Audio CD)
Ah yes, what America doesn't know it's missing is the fine songwriting abilities of one of England's best songwriters.

Starting with the children's tv series 'The Wombles' Mike
went on to release his astounding debut 'Schizophonia' (no
misspelling) with the London Symphony Orchestra. The opening track 'Ride To Agidir' just blew you away. Thereafter followed
more brilliance. Extreamly popular is the 'Caravans' (starring
Anthony "Zorba" Quinn) soundtrack.

After this collection leaves off he released 'Arabesque' with the hautingly beautiful 'Don't Believe The Angels'. Alas while nothing from this album or 'Hunting The Shark' is included here it's still a must have & a great introduction to Mike's work.
