4.0 out of 5 stars Different, not notably better collection, July 3, 2001
This review is from: Very Best of (Audio CD)
With all the Osmonds CD's that have come and gone, there is yet to appear one that is truly a comprehensive "greatest hits" collection. This Polygram U.K. import contains only charted hits U.K.-wise, but some of these tracks did not do as well stateside. Noticably missing are some major early Donny U.S. hits such as "Sweet and Innocent" and "Go Away Little Girl". Most of the other major hits for the Osmonds - together, solo and duo are represented. About the only distinguishing items here are the appearance of two tracks not found elsewhere - the Donny Osmond "When I Fall In Love" B-side of "Are You Lonesome Tonight" (not included here) and the "Crazy Horses" remix of later.

Sound quality is fairly good - as good or better than the domestic CD's available. All tracks except 14 are in stereo. Although a 12-page booklet makes up the liner notes, only three pages of text are here, mostly devoted to the Osmonds touring in the U.K. The remainder is taken by pictures of no particular note along with the track listings.

While containing a generous 24 tracks and a few otherwise seldom found Osmond tunes, the hefty price tag on this piece make it a somewhat marginally appealing selection for most Osmond music collectors.

4.0 out of 5 stars Superwhit, December 15, 2002

The album is a very good one and reminds me very much of my youth. The listening was a joy and took me back many moons. The two versions of Crazy Horses just panders to people like me though; those that feel it's the best record ever made. However, I did have a memory lapse when it came to such songs as Where Did All The Good Times Go. I just can't remember it. Sorry Donny!
