Missing Some Gems. Buy the Capitol Anthology Instead.
on July 3, 2012
Peabo Bryson has been a household name for nearly thirty years (Man, I'm gettin' old!) and that voice, straight out of the school of Donny Hathaway, has been layin' down that romantic R&B since I was just a freshman in high school. From his classic albums, "Reaching for the Sky," "Crosswinds," "Paradise," "I Am Love and "Don't Play with Fire," are some key tracks, however, this collection is missing some gems including, "Let the Feeling Flow," "I Love the Way You Love" and is void of any selections from his gorgeous, "Turn the Hands of Time" CD.
If you want a cliche collection to spin in the background while you're having dinner or taking a bubblebath with your significant other, then by all means, this collection will satisfy that need, BUT, if you are a serious Peabo fan, it would behoove you to buy his "Anthology" on Capitol which features two discs of music and chronologically honors ALL the hits and THEN SOME including crucial duets with labelmates Natalie Cole and Roberta Flack from their "We're The Best of Friends" and "Born to Love" albums. A couple of earlier gems are also included (for good measure) which came before his big solo breakthrough!
