The man's originality and infectious feeling bleed through on each of these 40 tracks. Ray Charles was a genius in interpretation of many genres, from Gospel to Country to Blues to R&B to old-fashioned Big Band singing. He is an artist of the highest order and this collection is outstanding in terms of his line of work. Greatest Hits. 2007.

Hubby asked for this for his CD collection. He didn't have any Ray Charles, so he thought this one had the best of his favorites on it. It does have a great variety of Ray Charles' best and lesser known songs. He loves it. picks him up when he's feeling blue.

I did not believe that this could be considered "best of Ray Charles". I own many of his cd's but would rank this cd way below some of my others. But he's still my favorite singer of all time, he can make any song sound great.

Ray Charles did it all musically and you really don't know how bad he was until you see all of these charts or musical categorys and come to the conclusion that Brother Ray could play all of them and then some. he had that swing, mood and feeling in his music. he truly had his own unique brand and stylings with whatever he played and grooved to. this multi set captures all of his big hits and then some. i mean he was a music making stylist who left his mark on whatever he was doing.

he was badd and the sho nuff truth.his arrangements and phrasing are incredible, very detail to harmony. Yes Sir!!!!
