In Australia, Slim Dusty is an absolute Legend! His voice is unmistakably Aussie, many of his songs tell interesting, sometimes funny tales of the Australian bush in a country/folk music setting. If you want a taste of outback Australia, this is it. It doesn't get anymore Australian that this one. Best songs: I'm going back to Yarrawonga, Duncan, Pub with no beer.

Slim Dusty is, no doubt, one of the very best of the Australian Country singers, and will truly be missed. The Very Best Of Slim Dusty combines live preformances with originals, and has a total of 25 songs. It took only 13 days to get to Ohio from Australia, and I am extremely happy with it. One of the best Ever!

Mr. Kirkpatrick had such a huge repertoire and so many great hits, if you want to have just one or two CD's, this is for you. It captures the spirit of Australia and his view of it. Ad his heritage album and Slim would turn you into an Aussie.

A great singer of Australian Frontier Ballads. How many farm kids at 11 years old, pick up a guitar and tell their parents my new name is Slim Dusty. (born David Kirkpatrick). His voice and songs have a very rare honesty about them. Not many special effects or recording tricks in his recordings. He sings of the land and the people of Australia. In the early days, He traveled 10 months out of the year playing at carnivals and country halls. Sometimes performing 12 sets per day.
His songs are NOT honky tonk, Womanizing, cheating songs. This Album shows several stages of Slim's performing Life. And as he grew older, He just got Better, Better and Better. Slim passed away in 2003 at the age of 76. We are so lucky in this age to be able to Hear and see Slim with clarity. Listen to these tunes and you will feel like you have been a part of Australia all your life. I was traveling with a friend when he played this CD, The more I listened, I had to ask: Who is this? Now I know and so will you.
