Probably the best of all the best of's, this cd contains choice album cuts as well as the hits. For fans of Grace Slick like myself,this collection contains most of what she did with the band after it became Starship.

A fairly good representation of the mostly Mickey Thomas and Grace Slick days of Starship, previously known as Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship. Contains most of the hits, notably "Nothing's Gonna Stop us Now , (featured in the movie Mannequin) Rock Myself to Sleep ,(also covered by April Wine) Sara ,(with actress Rebecca De Mornay in the video) Find Your Way Back, Jane and a song that in some circles the video was voted one of the worst ever but the song one of the most original "We Built This City"(insert the name of your favourite radio station here). My only complaint is the omission of "Tomorrow Doesn't Matter Tonight" from the "Knee Deep in the Hoopla " album. Other than that sit back and enjoy.

The music on this CD is timeless. I fell in love with this music when I was younger and now I actually purchased this CD for my seventeen year old daughter that fell in love with it after hearing me listen to it as she was growing up. It just goes to show that great music goes on forever.

What can you say about this band but good things. I grew up loving their songs. Not young anymore but, I still love them!

The Good: The songs I want are all here - in that respect it's a great value.

The Bad: Sound quality - There's something thin and grating about the sound. Like what early un-remastered CDs are renowed for: harsh treble, ear fatigue.

I * love* the actual music. I guess I'm going to have to rebuy album by album the songs I want that have been remastered. I have some high quality cassettes that sound (techically) less ear fatiguing than this.
My only solution so far is to turn the treble down. (If you have an equalizer, the 4Khz range...drop it back 4 to 6 db).

I don't have to do this with my other albums and I have a * large * record collection.

P.S. Don't get me wrong, I do not have "golden ears" and my stereo - while presentable is modest - not some mega audiophile system.

There are a lot of Best Of CDs from Starship/Jefferson Starship out there. However, this is THE BEST compilation I have ever heard or seen. All of their Jefferson Starship as well as Starship golden greats are here for your enjoyment. Enjoy!!!

Have been looking for a good collection of this band's great music. The went through many changes (and names) over their long history. But many of my favorites are on this CD. Good value for some great music from Starship.

I've been looking for a particular song for awhile and I finally found it. "Nothin' Gonna Stop Us Now" is on this CD collection and it's awesome. What I didn't realize was the other great tunes on here as well. A total bonus for me.

Starship / The very best of Starship: After the collapse of Jefferson Starship came the revised band as simply "Starship". The "Knee Deep In The Hoopla" album was a huge success for this band but they had a few others apart from that album. This hits CD collects all the best of their output and reminds us that Grace Slick could still Rock, long after the Airplane had landed. Not a perfect set, but good enough for a Four Star rating.

This CD was a great find! It brought back some good memories and I am sure will create some great new ones! The song collection is comprehensive, specific to the Starship era of music in the 80's. So it does not include any of the songs from Jefferson Starship, Jefferson Airplane or other alias band names. This was my favorite era of their music. If you are an 80's music fan, you will love this CD.
