A Very "Brilliant" Work,
By DAW (IA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Very Brilliant Affair: The Battle of Queenstown Heights, 1812 (Hardcover)
I'm not sure where to start!! Excellent, detailed work, brilliantly researched and written. The work took slightly over 100 pages before the battle started, but the previous pages set the battle scene perfectly. There are also about 80 pages of appendices, endnotes, and bibliographic information, perfect for those wanting additional information.
Valuable addition for those interested in history of the time period. Valuable for shedding light on a much-neglected period of history. I have read Warships of the Great Lakes and now completed this work. I am eageraly anticipating the other works by this author. At the time of purchase, this work was not available through Amazon.com, but rather through a third party. Excellent purchasing experience with that third party seller. Thanks to everyone involved for making available this valuable work. |
