Super guitar work String-a-Long style,

These guys play my kind of sane guitar music, plenty relaxing and entertaining. Much calmer than a lot of Ventures albums. Wish there was more albums available.

Good old straight ahead guitar instrumentals here! I learned a lot from these guys way back when. In fact I recently worked out "Sentimental Journey" on my lap steel using this CD. So these guys are still helping me out! One of the great instrumental bands of that era for sure. Great music for the car or anytime for that matter. They rank with Duane Eddy, The Ventures, Johnny and the Hurricanes, and the other great bands from early R&R. Highly recommended!

This is an excellent CD featuring the greatest hits of the String-A-Longs, a wonderful but sadly little-known instrumental group that recorded in the same Norman Petty Studios that Buddy Holly did. The style is reminiscent of The Ventures, Santo & Johnny, and other great bands of the late 50's/early 60's era. Pop this into the CD player and go back to the days of drive-ins, poodle skirts, saddle shoes and the Eisenhower/Kennedy years. A great sampler from a truly great band.
