I FOUND MY OWN VERY HUNGRY CATAPILLAR COLORING BOOK TO BE A VERY UNIQUE IDEA. TO TAKE A CLASSIC THAT CHILDREN AND ADULTS LOVE AND TURN IT INTO SOMETHING THAT CHILDREN AND THEIR ADULT COMPANION CAN SHARE IN THE FUN OF COLORING--THE CATAPILLAR AND ALL OF THE THINGS HE ATE AND COLORING THE BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY AT THE END OF THE STORY IS MAKING A MEMORY FOR BOTH TO SHARE FOR A LIFETIME. THIS WAS A VERY GOOD IDEA.

I bought this book for my 6 year old son who loves Eric Carle books and also loves to draw and color. This book was a huge hit. He had the entire book colored the same day he received it. And we ordered the other Eric Carle coloring books. It is a great product because you get the real book, but have your own childs coloring. Also, there is a page in the back with a picture of Eric Carle, and a place for your child to put their picture. This type of book is a great idea and really involves the children in the story.

My 2 y/o shows some interest in coloring every once in a while, so I naturally wanted to buy coloring books that would catch his attention. This was one of them! He loves all of his Eric Carle books, and now he can color his own story. Great idea!

I'm happy with this item, but I'm almost afraid to give it to my child for fear she won't take her time with it (she's three). I'm saving it for a special day project.

My youngest daughter received this for Valentine's Day and has spent a great deal of time making this book beautiful. This is perfect for kids who have read and loved Carle's Very Hungry Caterpillar and want to color in the illustrations -making the book their own. The cover even has a space for the child to add their name as the illustrator. This was a great gift. I plan on keeping one on hand for those occasions when you need a gift to give quickly.

I love this book. It is the same story as the original but this one has no color. Instead, the child is encouraged to color the story. I am a teacher and have used this story in addition to the original for many lessons that help me assess the students and get them thinking. We love it, then we draw our own storybooks. The illistrations are simple and easy to follow. Great for a guided drawing lesson. It is also a terrific way for students to identify a variety of fruits by shape, not color. I recommend this book if you are a fan of the original story. Have this one in addition for lots of fun.

This is a nice coloring book. I think it is a little overpriced and should be packaged with the Very Hungry Caterpillar book. My son likes it. I got it because I thought it would be interesting. However, without Eric Carle's colors, it's really quite boring.
